Smart Fishing Charters – Skipjack
Smart Fishing Charters is an owner-operated charter boat service that provides excellent fishing opportunities to suit any taste. From beginner groups and families to veteran anglers, Smart Fishing Charters has the means and the knowledge to get you reeling in some amazing fish, and having a good time doing so.
The vessel you will be spending your day aboard is “Redeye” – a 26’ Tomcat, fitted with twin 140HP Suzuki engines. She has plenty of space to carry 6 guests and have them fishing at the same time. There’s a toilet on board and a cabin, so you’ll travel in complete comfort.
The vessel comes equipped with all the fishing essentials, including GPS and fishfinder to track down the best spots and outriggers for top-class trolling. You’ll be using and quality Penn and Shimano fishing gear to make sure you land your catch.
Your trip with Smart Fishing Charters could see you fishing anywhere from calm inshore waters to open ocean, which is why the boat comes equipped with a massive variety of equipment. There’s a variety of species you could hook, depending on where you decide to cast your lines.
On inshore trips, you’ll stay on the trail of Red Emperor Snapper, Seabream, Cape Bream/Hottentot and sometimes even a shark. If you’d like more of a challenge, travel to Cape Point and come face to gills with the likes of Yellowtail, Skipjack Tuna, and Cape Barracuda/Snoek. The offshore expedition will take you to the bluewater, where Mahi Mahi, Tuna, and Sharks await, along with an occasional Marlin between December and February.
Whatever you decide to keep, your guide will clean and fillet for you after the trip, or you can simply leave it all to the crew. If you’re coming with children, they should be at least 8 years old to enjoy inshore fishing, and 12 to actively participate in the offshore escapades.
All you need to get for your day on the water is snacks, drinks, and lunch on longer trips. Explore the riches of South Africa fishing with Smart Fishing Charters!
