The amazing fishing opportunities of Vancouver Island are best experienced when you have a great guide by your side. That’s why Salmon Strike Charters has been helping people catch fish on this island for over 30 years. Captain Brian Lebrun is just the person you need to maximize your chances for a great catch.
The crew is based in Courtenay but visits a much wider area. You can explore the west coast of the island around Nootka Sound and Tahsis, or fish at the Campbell River, Comox, and Georgia Strait. Since you can book multiday trips, you’ll have enough time to visit all of it! For multiday trips, you will be staying at the cabins near the departure point of the boat.
You’ll be fishing on a 26’ Hurston that accommodates up to 4 guests. The boat has been newly restored in 2020 and she’s geared up with the latest navigational electronics and a new 150 Yamaha engine. The vessel also features a private toilet, a live bait tank, and a cooler.
Depending on the fishing spot and technique, you can go after Chinook and Coho Salmon, Halibut, Lingcod, Rockfish, and Crab. You can keep the catch if it’s within regulations and the crew will clean it for you free of charge.
Your fishing equipment is fully covered, which includes rods, reels, lures, and live bait. Make sure to purchase your fishing license before the trip and bring your food and drinks. Get in touch if you have questions about the accommodation.
Salmon Strike Charters has decades of experience and they will gladly share it with you.
