Our party of three enjoyed a four-hour inshore fishing excursion with Chris the last week of March during our vacation to St. Augustine. I’d grown up fishing on the Gulf side of Florida in the 1980s and 1990s with my grandfather, so I had never hired a fishing charter before. I chose Captain Chris after watching his introductory video and reading these reviews. As it turned out, Chris was just as down-to-earth as I’d imagined and just as knowledgeable about the area as I’d expected from his introduction. He made sure we spent as much time as possible with our lines in the water, and when the fish weren’t biting, he moved us quickly to a new location in his 25’ bay boat. We didn’t catch any keepers for eating that day (they weren’t quite big enough), but we had some exciting catches, some good laughs, some funny casting mishaps, and some quiet moments where everyone was “just fishing.” I would highly recommend a fishing excursion with Chris for anglers of any age. We will certainly book another fishing trip with Chris if find ourselves in St. Augustine again!

Headed out with Captain Chris during a tough fishing time of the year.  However, Chris had a lot of holes to hit, target what can be found to bite, and kept at it.  I appreciate someone who is willing to burn up the gas if needed to get to the next spot when the bite is slow.  Hearing and seeing other captains, we were not alone, but it didn’t stop Chris and his efforts.  Of note, we had someone who had never fished before.  His explanation of techniques to bait, cast, and present the bait to improve the chances of a bite were spot on. Seeing them pull in 17” Redfish was exceptional. I would recommend Captain Chris to anyone who is novice, family outings, or some hardcore folks that want to hit it hard. It was clear that he was very personable and would do what is needed to make sure it was a good time, whether or not you fill the cooler. It’s not the captains fault that your Redfish you are pulling in are a half inch too short. A few sharks that were stealing the bait doesn’t help either. The Black Drum and Trout that we got certainly was enough to send us home with stories and smiles.

Captain Chris Driver could not have done a better job. He knew where, when, and how to put us on the fish. We had a great day and caught more fish than we expected including a very nice sized redfish. We released most but kept a few which Captain Chris expertly filleted and wrapped. We brought them home and we will enjoy a few fish dinners reminiscing about our experience.

I highly recommend you hire Chris to be your guide. We told him that we wanted to catch as many different species as possible. He made it happen. He moved us around many times. Going to lots of different areas. He made special arrangements for us because we were getting off the plane later than his normal leaving time. So he totally catered to us and our needs. We caught about 20 fish and had a blast. Towards the end, he baited a pole and fished deep putting it in a rod holder. We could tell he wanted to catch a big one for us. Sure enough, the rod bent in half. He picked it up and handed it to me and I was in for the fight of my life. It was a huge redfish. What a great day! We had a blast!

Great Day on the water with captain Chris. There was 4 total in our party and 3 of them were beginners and Chris helped them to understand how to be successful. We caught a lot of redfish, flounder and snappers and limited out on redfish We went after some big bull redfish but they didn’t want to work with us. We changed it up and ended the trip hooking up with a couple of sharks that my family loved. Captain Chris is very knowledgeable and I would definitely recommend him to fish with especially if you have some beginners , they will be smiling by the end of your trip! Thanks Chris
