Cajun South Guide Service – Lafitte
Start your next fishing adventure with Cajun South Guide Service! Spend a day with Captain Brett, who’s been fishing these areas for over 20 years.
Lafitte lies about 45 minutes south of New Orleans and is considered by many to be the "Redfish Capital" of Louisiana! Lafitte is located on the upper end of the Barataria Bay area of Louisiana, which features brackish water to the north, eventually leading to saltwater to the south along the coast near Grand Isle, LA.
Somewhere in between these areas, anglers can catch Redfish and Speckled Trout 12 months out of the year! This area offers plenty of options and locations to choose from depending on weather and seasonal conditions, which makes it a great fishing destination along the coast.
Although Speckled Trout fishing can be excellent, it is often overshadowed by the amazing redfishing this area has to offer. You’ll go after Redfish with "market" shrimp either on the bottom or under a cork, as well as with artificial lures, including spoons, redfish spinnerbaits, chatterbaits, and occasionally topwaters too!
Speckled Trout fishing depends on the conditions and is generally done with artificial lures in the Lafitte area, as live shrimp are often not readily available. This usually includes jigging soft plastics, as well as fishing them beneath a cork.
Captain Brett covers your fishing equipment and cleans your catch. You only need to purchase your fishing license and bring some snacks and drinks for the day.
Cajun South Guide Service can’t wait to take you for an adventure!
