FISHING/ WHALE WATCHING TRIPS

Start your Salmon adventure with HLS Charters at Campbell River! Meet Captain Mike, who has over 30 years of experience targeting saltwater Salmon. These fishing grounds are not only a Salmon fishing scene, as you can enjoy gorgeous surroundings and marine life. In between your fishing battles, take a look at humpback whales, orca pods, sea lions, white-sided dolphins, and so much more.

You’ll be fishing on a 25’ Kingfisher that accommodates up to 6 guests. This amazing boat comes with a private toilet, a multimedia system, a lounge area, and an enclosed cabin. As each group of guests has members who are less enthusiastic about fishing, they can relax - this will be a comfortable ride for all of them.

The boat is powered by a 250 HP Mercury engine that can glide to any fishing spot in no time. There’s also downriggers for trolling, a live bait tank, and a cooler for the catch.

You’ll mainly troll for Coho and Chinook Salmon but they are not the only fish you can catch. If you like to try out bottom fishing, you can get yourself some Lingcod. If the season is open, you get to keep the catch and the captain will clean it for you free of charge.

All your fishing equipment is covered, so your main preparation is getting your fishing license. You can also pack some snacks and drinks and check the weather forecast so you can choose the right clothing for the day.

HLS Charters looks forward to seeing the excitement and smiles when you land your Salmon. Just say when you’re coming!

My passion for fishing began many years ago as a young boy in South Western Alberta trout fishing in mountain lakes and rivers with my dad. As time went on I saw salmon fishing shows on television so my salmon fishing passion began over 25 years ago in Northern B.C. in Prince Rupert and Kitimat. I still remember my first salmon I caught being from the prairies fish were not this big or as strong. I was grinning from ear to ear. I was hooked. Having my charter company now I get to see that grin I know so well on my clients face. I still to this day get that grin every time I take a rod and wait for that first run and listening to the drag on the reel peeling out line. For me being on the water is so relaxing there is nothing like it and for the first time fisher I see it every time. Clients all of a sudden are quiet their looking around soaking up the scenery not worrying about anything. Just relaxing until They hear those two words that will change their life. " FISH ON "
