Explore the beautiful waters of the Lower Laguna Madre. Enjoy the world-class inshore fishing opportunities and outstanding catches. On any day of the year, the bay system is brimming with Redfish, Black Drum, Speckled Trout, Snook, Mangrove Snapper, and Flounder.

Enjoy the crystal clear waters and its thriving ecosystem onboard a 21’ flats boat. It was refurbished in 2015 and comes powered by a 175 HP Yamaha Sho Vmax engine. The boat can comfortably take up to four anglers to fish in comfort and style. It is an ideal fishing machine for the waters of the bays, and can easily fish waters just 3’ deep.

On your day out, you will be mainly using light tackle, sight fishing, and drifting for whatever is in season and biting. Even if you have never held a fishing rod in your hand, you don’t have to worry. Capt. Dave will guide you through the basics before you make your first cast. He especially enjoys working with children and seeing their smile when they reel in their first ever fish.

Always a Catch Fishing Trips come inclusive with everything you need to make a great catch possible. You will only need to bring a saltwater fishing license, sunblock, a hat, appropriate clothes, drinks, and food. Capt. Dave will provide you with rods, reels, bait, and cold water.

Dave’s guidance to my son gave my son bragging rights that he outfished dad, a well experienced fisherman. Limited on reds in a short period of time, then scored on a few trout.

We had a great time on this fishing trip with Captain Dave!  The weather conditions were less than favorable as the tide in the bay was low and, because of Hurricane Harvey’s influence a couple of hundred miles away, there was an in-flow of fresh water in the bay.  These factors caused the fishing to start-off slow.  However, kudos to Captain Dave (aka “The Fish Whisperer”) who worked relentlessly to give us a great day out on the water.  His boat and fishing rigs are well equipped.  We used fresh cut-bait and once the fish started biting, the sport of saltwater fishing was on!!  When we thought we were finishing with fishing and headed back in to shore, Captain Dave spotted a pod of Red Fish, cut the engine back, circled the pod and what ensued was an action-packed, exhilarating 10 minutes of bringing in another beautiful Red Fish to add to our count!  We are already looking forward to booking with Captain Dave the very next time we go out, which we hope is sooner than later!
