Booking a charter on a vacation several weeks/months can be a gamble on the weather.  We had a somewhat windy day which made conditions fairly challenging to find fish.  Bite was slow but Doug put us on a few trout immediately and continued to adjust until we found more fish.  We finished out the day with snook which was a blast.  Doug knew right where they were!  Enjoyed getting to know Doug!  Great guy!  I highly recommend Jewel of the Bay!  Good luck!

Our group of three had the most incredible experience fishing with Captain Doug on Tampa Bay this morning. Doug’s expertise and enthusiasm made our four-hour trip unforgettable. From start to finish, he demonstrated exceptional patience and skill in coaching us through various fishing techniques.

What made the trip truly outstanding was the diversity of fish we caught. From Speckled Seatrout to Silver Seatrout, Mackerel to Snook, Grouper to Jack, and even a thrilling encounter with a Shark, Doug ensured we experienced the full spectrum of Tampa Bay’s marine life. Every spot he took us to offered a new and exciting catch, including Bluefish, Ladyfish, and an intriguing Lizardfish.

I cannot recommend Doug enough to anyone looking for a memorable fishing adventure. He’s a professional and has a genuine love for what he does. Thank you, Doug, for an absolutely spectacular day on the water!

Can’t recommend Doug enough.  I happened to catch the worst weather week possible for fishing and we still made the most of it.  Doug called me the day prior and explained the conditions that we were up against… High Winds (35 MPH gusts), low tide, and Cold water temps. He told me that if it were him spending the money on the trip, he would probably cancel and that there was a good chance we wouldn’t catch much.  Because we are only see for the week and Wednesday was the best weather day, we chose to do it anyways.  He did everything he could on his end to make that day great for me and my dad, even through awful conditions.  We fished several different spots and weren’t having much luck, until we ultimately found a spot and caught our limit in trout and about 8+ other species of fish as well. Went it to it with the possibility of catching nothing and left with dinner for the whole family plus many other meals. Can’t wait to book Doug again when the weather conditions are better!

Captain was great. Put us on the fish all day. Took pictures of my son which he did not have to do, and sent them to us. Gave us a lot of information on the island and recommended some awesome places to visit. Boat was very nice as was the equipment. Overall one of the best experiences we have had, and we go every year. Thank you for a great experience!

My wife and I went fishing on Captain Doug’s charter and had more fun than we expected. We caught tons of fish and had plenty to take home. Captain Doug cleaned the fish, removed the bones and cut them into nice filets. Captain Doug also did a great job assisting my wife, who had never fished before in her life. Captain Doug was determined to have us catch multiple snuck and even stayed out 30 extra minutes to make sure that happened. We can’t recommend him enough and will definitely be repeat customers
