Trip Summary
Hello Anglers, For all of you that wished you could have got onboard for the Blue Water Gulf Stream trip this past Monday August 17, 2015, here's a run down on the action. We traveled southeast 72 miles, the seas were comfortable and a picture perfect day turned into some nice top water action. Trolling the blue water with skirted ballyhoo for about 5 miles we had two knock downs and then a big fin behind the center rigger, it slammed the bait, moved over to the next line and again slammed the bait, the third time was not a charm. It slammed the bait again and the Marlin disappeared.
A few minutes later a wahoo in the spread but missed the hook, again another wahoo but a short strike. Finally we hook up on a nice Bull Dolphin, boated it, made the circle and hook up again on another nice Mahi, but after a spectacular display of acrobatics it threw the hook. This group got to witness a great display of pelagic top water action and then decided to do some deep water bottom fishing and put some nice Vermillion Snapper in the box and released some reef donkeys ( Amberjack).
