Captain Eric Scoble’s Blackwater Charters offers fishing trips out of Islamorada, FL. If you want to go fishing around the offshore reefs or head towards the Gulf, this charter is for you. Not far from the dock lies probably the best sportfishing fishery in the world. Here you can target anything from Mahi to Snapper.
Capt. Eric runs trips year round. You will be fishing around the reefs, looking for Yellowtail and Mangrove Snapper, or trolling offshore for Mahi and Wahoo, and likely Sailfish as well. You can also stay inshore on the Gulf side and target the likes of Tarpon and other species.
Whichever course you set, you will have a reliable vessel to put you on track. ‘Serenity’ is a 25’ custom-built open center console. She is powered by a 250 HP Evinrude engine and can reach speeds of up to 40 knots. The boat can take up to four anglers. She is spacious and fit to fish around the reefs on the Atlantic side and the Gulf. The boat is equipped with outriggers, navigational electronics, has a Yeti fish box, and stores quality tackle. There is plenty of shade and comfortable seating.
You can try anything from trolling to kite fishing, depending on the conditions and your preferred fishing method. The trips are great for both novice anglers and pro fishos. Capt. Eric will supply all the fishing gear and bait, as well as the license. He will also clean your catch, which means you only need to bring food and drinks.
When packing for the trip, prepare a cap, polarized sunglasses, sunscreen, and comfortable clothes. You may also want to bring seasickness medication. Of course, don’t forget to get your camera ready.
