With Reel Shallow Adventures you'll be fishing in shallow waters, but the fun and excitement run deep in their fishing tours. You can experience the flats of Bayport Florida and try your luck with a variety of tasty and challenging fish. Don't worry, Captain Garry Strickland will guide you all the way, and help you get that fish.
This charter can accommodate 5 guests per trip. You'll be exploring the Bayport waters on the Custom built guide boat (Micro Draft) model from 2008.The vessel is 22ft long and is fitted with a single Mercury engine that can reach speeds up to 35 knots. To improve your fishing experience there's fishfinding equipment on board.
With Captain Strickland, you get to experience the nearshore fisheries of the region that include flats and backcountry locations. You can hone your light tackle game and depending on the season get to pick your trophy. You may encounter Redfish and Trout, while in cooler months you can go after the delicious Grouper.
The crew includes the first mate and they will help your prepare your catch if you get lucky. All the necessary fishing equipment, bait, and lures will be waiting on board, and also you don't need to fuss about the fishing license. The charter has you covered.

Half Day Trip (AM) on May 28, 2026 • 5 adultsCaptain Gary absolutely put us on the fish yesterday. Apparently redfish and snook have been keyed in on these little greenback bait fish, but they’re really hard to find this time of year. Captain Gary was up at 4:30am running to a few special spots that only he and a handful of other locals know about because he grew up fishing these waters. He explained that with the heat lately, the nearshore fishing has slowed down, and the fish have been schooling in cooler water around the small mangrove islands. He and a few other guides are constantly communicating and sharing where the fish are. After a beautiful boat ride with my family, we caught our limit of massive red drums, and my wife landed an incredible 35-inch snook. We also caught sharks and few other types of fish throughout the day. Beyond the fishing, Captain Gary was just a genuinely nice guy and incredibly knowledgeable about the estuaries and local waters. Even if we hadn’t caught any keepers, it still would’ve been a great day enjoying the scenery and learning from him. Highly recommend Captain Gary and Reel Shallow Adventures if you want a great day on the water.

Half day (pm) on November 23, 2025 • 2 adults • 1 childwe were off to a slow start, but it ended up with plenty of fish in the boat. My grandson was well treated and had a wonderful time. I also had a great time. Would do it again anytime thanks Gary.

Not only did he teach us about the ocean, currents, tides and fish but made sure that we didn’t leave without catching something. He went the extra mile and had us stay longer just to hit a couple more spots. He made sure we saw the shark, sting rays, all of the dolphins, and so much more. I’d absolutely book this again. This trip was for my 73 yr old dad and my 23 yr old son. I just hopped on for the ride. He helped me make a memory for these two men that will be talked about forever. I can’t thank him and his kind heart enough!

Great 1st trip!
3/4 day on March 29, 2024 • 4 adultsWe had a great time today (3/28/2024), Captain Gary grew up around here and knows all the spots, we all caught fish (some too big, some too small, more than enough for dinner!) and had a great time. The teens caught the biggest and had fun without the phones for once. Capt Gary suggested Bayport Inn to cook our fish for dinner and they did such a great job; fried, broiled and blackened it was all delicious. We are excited to come back!

hot summer day and captain Gary still put us on some fish. didnt waste anytime if they werent biting, we moved spots and caught fish. same with scalloping. geat captain and will be booking another trip with him
