Maverick Spotfishing operates out of the prestigious sportfishing town of Kailua-Kona, HI, offering epic offshore adventures to suit any schedule. With trips ranging from four to eight hours, and the deep blue waters just a short boat ride away, you are in for the big game fishing experience of your life!
The “Maverick” is a 38’ Bertram sportfisherman with room aboard for up to six guests. Built in 1970, this classic piece of American design was lovingly restored in 2010, and now features everything you would expect of a world class sportfishing machine.
The vessel is equipped with Furuno GPS and fishfinder, a custom Murray fighting chair, and all Shimano tournament-grade rods and reels. She also has outriggers, a livewell, and tuna tubes, making her ready to take on even the fiercest of bluewater beasts.
The “Maverick” still has plenty of little luxuries to keep you comfortable on your trip. Her large flybridge will let you take in the views in style on your way to the fishing grounds. Below deck you will find an air-conditioned salon, a galley, birth, and full head, as well as ample storage, Hi-Fi, and even Wifi.
Not that you will notice any of this, because you will be too busy fighting massive Blue and White Marlin, monster Ono (Wahoo), huge Spearfish and more up on deck. The Maverick crew will work themselves to the bone to make sure this happens, and will always be on hand to offer their top tricks for each species.
Captain Trevor is a fifth-generation Hawaiian fisherman who learned everything he knows fishing the deep Pacific seas around Kona. He knows these waters like the back of his hand and meets every challenge with the joy and excitement that comes from truly loving what you do.
So climb aboard with Maverick Sportfishing, and get ready for a trip you will never forget!
