Welcome to Down Range Fishing Charters of Marblehead, Ohio. Capt. Joe and Capt. Ben operate from the Port Clinton/ Marblehead area starting in April each season and we target the Western Basin fisheries highly productive months starting in March/ April and running through the end of June each season.

We provide a friendly, safe, and enjoyable Lake Erie Fishing Charter experience. Booking has been made easy with our online portal and we will do our best to accommodate your crew in any way we can. We welcome anglers of all skill levels and provide all of the equipment you will need to be successful.

What is a drift/cast Walleye charter like on Lake Erie?

A slower-paced and hands-on type of Lake Erie Walleye Charter fishing with an abundance of leisure time to enjoy friends, fishing, and the Lake Erie charter experience. It is one of our favorites, actually. Using light tackle with jigs, weight-forward spinners, and worms, we fish the swing to target Walleye.

What is a trolling charter on Lake Erie like?

Our trolling techniques as a Lake Erie Walleye charter includes a multitude of specialized equipment and practices. With inline planer boards as well as larger boat-mounted reels for “big boards, we deploy multiple lines at once. While targeting specific fish marks and different depths with an even wider variety of baits and color patterns. We like spoons, cranks, and worm harnesses depending on the time of year. Your captain and first mate will work with your crew and have you trolling in a short time. This is a team effort style of Lake Erie Walleye charter that everyone will be involved in.

Who keeps and cleans the fish?

All legal fish may be taken home by the guests. Local fee-based fish cleaning services are available to assist.

I decided to become a Charter Boat Captain initially to achieve a life long goal of earning my Captains License. I’ve been been a fisherman since I was just a boy and it is my sport of choice. Although running the Charter is not (yet) my full time job it is a job that I truly enjoy. I have been fishing on Lake Erie and other Ohio lakes for over 30 years and I am always excited to be out on the water with friends, family and guests.
