Captain Lee Charters
Panama City is one of the hottest angling spots on the Panhandle, for good reason. The world-famous Gulf of Mexico bring excellent fishing right to your door and the premier service of Captain Lee Charters makes every trip into a pleasant memory.
Captain Richard Lee invites you to join him for an angling adventure off the coast of the Sunshine State aboard his 38’ offshore sportfishing vessel. She was put on the water in 1960 and fully restored in 2015 – old-school quality and modern amenities wrapped into a mean bluewater machine. Six anglers can fit comfortably on board, there’s plenty of seating space and numerous rod holders.
Capt. Richard will deftly steer you offshore from the onboard flybrige – he can spot topwater fish from far away. Once you’re on top of the fish you can strap in the available fighting chair – especially useful if you’re battling a fighter like Amberjack. Both light and heavy tackle is ready for use on board. It’ll come in handy when you’re hooking up big pelagics like Blue Marlin. You’ll hit waters about 40 miles offshore on 10 and 12-hour trips.
Remember to pack a cooler since you’ll be going after some of the tastiest swimmers in Florida –Red Snapper. The catch list is complemented with Vermillion Snapper, various Groupers, Wahoo, Bluefish, and many other species.
Experience true Floridian fishing the right way. Book a trip with Captain Lee Charters and cast off on a bluewater excursion you’ll fondly remember!

We tried trolling, but had no success. So we then traveled an hour at a slow pace (probably 10 mph) for an hour to bottom fish. There we caught 6 fish before our time was up. Therefore we traveled 2 hours, bottom fished for 1.5, and trolled for 30 minutes. Captain Lee couldn’t control the fish, I understand, but we could have gone straight out to bottom fish from the get-go and at a faster pace.
However, my 9-year-old caught 4 of the 5 fish and he loved it. He made awesome memories and further sealed his love of fishing.

Boat has no a/c and no where to sit on ride out except on coolers Capt Lee said very little and spent most of his time fishing. He and the mate spent our last 30 minutes fishing while we watched He found some spots with small fish. Others at dock had fish three times as big. Looks like a rookie operation and I won’t book again to pay $900 to watch them fish. Totally rude and unacceptable when we paid to fish.

Requested a 4 hour bottom fishing trip. Fished for a total of 30 minutes. Drove around the rest of the time. Couldn’t find the fish. Didn’t seem to be trying too hard. 4 people fished and not one game fish was caught. Caught about 3-4 bait fish the entire trip. We have hired private fishing charters for over 15 years…. This is the most disappointing trip we have ever been on. For $600 we expected to bring home some red snapper or at least some red fish. I would not recommend using this charter for a bottom fishing trip. Did not have to rebait my hook one time….ridiculous.
