This week my family and I traveled to Indian beach for a week long vacation. While we were here, we decided we wanted to spend some time crabbing but didn’t want the hassle of finding the right spot and buying our own gear. While there are many different options to choose from, there weren’t many that focused on crabbing. After searching around we found Andrew and I’m glad we did. Andrew has lived in the area his whole life and knew the special places to go. We did a lot more than pulling up crab pots on this trip. We started out searching for seashells on an island that was uninhabited and the shells we found were amazing. We then traveled to another spot to search for shark teeth. Andrew knew exactly where to go and we were able to find approximately 40 teeth on this small island. After finishing our search, we traveled to Andrew’s crab pots where we were able to catch some crabs. Finally, we traveled to a place where we were able to find clams to bring home. This trip was so much more than what I expected. Andrew was awesome with my children and we had a great time. I would recommend First Due Charters if you are looking to book a trip that is far different than your ordinary fishing trip.

This is an excellent way to spend the day with the family (especially with young ones) enjoying the inlet activities only accessible by watercraft. Captain Andrew is full of knowledge of the area and great with kids (especially the timid ones). The trip never had a dull moment yet was completely relaxing at the same time. Plus, we got some clams and crabs to take home for dinner. Couldn’t recommend it more and will be making it part of our vacation schedule from now on.

Our family (1 child age 7 and 5 adults) had a great day.  We got to do everything we wanted: digging for clams, finding shells and shark teeth and pulling crab pots. The captain is awesome: great personality and very knowledgeable about everything we did and the history of the area.  We fully enjoyed the day and took home enough crab and clams to feed our extended family of 10.  As my granddaughter said, ‘It was the best day ever.”.

We had an awesome day on Andrews boat! The trip was versatile and fun for our whole family. Andrew was an excellent guide and made sure that our kids had a good time. We so appreciated the opportunity to experience the ICW and have some fun together. We hope to return!
