Boomerang Tours Costa Rica welcomes you to Playa Flamingo! Come to Guanacaste in Costa Rica and head out to one of the most beautiful beaches in the area. You can travel inshore along the coast into the bays or offshore up to 10 miles into the sea.
You will use a 27’ custom-built center console boat that can accommodate up to 7 guests. It runs on a 115 HP Suzuki engine and has quality Garmin technology to quickly put you on the fish. The boat has got a private toilet and is equipped with downriggers, outriggers, and snorkeling gear. You can also use spearfishing equipment when you book a spearfishing trip. If you wish, a first mate will also come on the trip, although the captain alone will surely provide you with all the help you’ll need.
Guanacaste’s waters will give you a wide choice of fish to target. You’ll chase interesting species such as Roosterfish, Mahi Mahi, Cubera Snapper, Spanish Mackerel, Broomtail Grouper, Red Snapper, Wahoo, and more. Using light and heavy tackle, you’ll get to bottom fish, deep sea fish, troll, spin, jig, pop, and even spearfish. If you opt to keep the fish you catch, the captain will clean and fillet it for you free of charge. He’ll also give you advice on the restaurants that can prepare you wonderful meals. The boat’s family-friendly so you’re free to bring any kids with you.
You’re covered with all the tackle, including rods, reels, lures, and live bait. Light snacks and fresh fruit will be available on the boat, as well as water and non-alcoholic beverages. Beer and sandwiches are included in the price for our 3/4 Day Trip and the Full Day Trip. If you don’t have a fishing license, the captain can provide you with one for a fee.

Great time fishing in Costa Rica

We had a great time with Captain Walter. He was very knowledgeable on where to go to catch fish. We trolled and caught some Bonito, and then we jumped on some rainbow runners in which we were able to keep and eat. Seems like we were out fishing most of the people around us. It was fun to hear the captains of the other boats talk amongst themselves. We had our limit and then went to some other spots and fish some more. I would recommend this to anyone.

We had a great time fishing in Costa Rica. We caught black tuna, red snapper and jack fish. Walter and Walter Jr. put us on the fish about 5 miles out. Beautiful day and good time fishing. I would recommend Boomerang. The added bonus was taking what we did keep and having it cooked at the local restaurant for lunch. The Beach House.

Crew barely interacted w us and did not really show us what day was going to be like.
Crew did a decent job of putting us on the fish and did a great job of cleaning them. However, I been on several charters and when we go bottom fishing there’s no reason why we shouldn’t be fishing w the crew. If your idea of a fishing charter is paying 400$+ to sit there and watch other people do the fishing then this one is for you. Plenty of rods on the boat no reason why just the captain and mate should be fishing. I asked a couple times for a rod and finally got to try for a few min then gave the rod back to the captain. Captain and mate are definitely more skilled on hooking the fish, but there’s a ton of rods on this boat and guests should be actually fishing…… Captain has great expertise in knowing the waters and did find fish on a day where not much was biting.
The big issue I had was we were booked til 6 pm and crew insisted on calling it at 5:15 which is probably the most important 45 min of dusk we missed fishing. Saying that their water taxi leaves at 5:30 which is lame as I saw water taxis leaving at 6:30-7 all night long. If this the case advertise the trip to end before sunset I guess…. We had to sit there at the beach waiting 30 min for our ride and watched people catch fish at the shore…not even on a boat.
Trolling set up was phenomenal for a small boat and the captain and mate did catch us some nice snapper in deep waters.
Tough to catch game fish without some live bait, live bait is mentioned on here but wasn’t used.

I'm sorry you didn't have a great day out there, and I'll be sharing the review with my Captain, as this isn't how others who have bottom fished with him have reported their experience was. I'm disappointed about you coming in early as well. It wasn't until I saw captain's report that I knew you had returned early. I followed up and was told the marina manager and Gilbert, the water taxi driver, had a meeting (I was not aware of this), and they were unable to bring anyone back in after 5:30. I'm sorry for that, especially after we talked about how you'll be out there for the sunset! I think the other pangas you saw come in are privately owned by other fishing boats and catamarans... this is the first time we've heard our Boomerang clients had to come in early for something like this. The rating stings, but I understand. If we can help you have a better time on Boomerang - let me know. I'd like to try and make it up to you. Debra
