March Forth Charters welcomes you on a fishing adventure you’ll never forget. Captain Brian was born and raised in New England fishing the cold waters of the Northern Atlantic. He moved to Marathon drawn by the warm blue water, year round fishing, and an amazing variety of fish for the taking. Once on board, be prepared to learn, whether it’s your first time holding a rod or you’re an experienced angler, Capt. Brian is going to teach you about all the techniques that you’ll use during the trip.
You’ll head out aboard a 2015 22’ Mako that accommodates up to 4 guests. The vessel is powered by a 200 HP Mercury Verado engine that cruises efficiently at 25 knots. It’s equipped with the latest technology including Lowrance GPS and Sonar, Garmin Radar, as well as multiple bait wells, outriggers, and tons of rod holders to hold all the tools you’ll will need to have a fun, safe, comfortable day on the water.
You can always count on the bite inshore and around the renowned 7 Mile Bridge. Offshore, outer reefs, and deep wrecks are weather permitting. This means that you’re likely to go after Snapper, Grouper, Mackerel, Jacks, Sharks, and even Tarpon during the summer months. If the weather permits, you can venture farther and target coastal pelagics such as Mahi, Tuna, and Wahoo.
Armed with a full array of top of the line rods and reels, there will be different styles and techniques to learn about and test throughout the day. There will be an assortment of bait; fresh, frozen, and sometimes live. Space is limited on a small vessel so traveling with one small bag is suggested for the group. Important items such as hats, sunglasses, and sunscreen are recommended. Also suggested are closed toe shoes that are skid and slip resistant that you don’t mind getting wet. The deck can get wet and be slippery, safety is a top priority. There is a cooler on board filled with ice and bottled water, feel free to bring additional drinks and snacks to add.
