My 13 year old, his cousin, his cousin’s dad and I had an amazing day catching fish all afternoon with Captain Rene. We caught so many fish and Captain Rene was absolutely amazing. He was always there to set bait and helped the kids with instruction and reeling in some pretty big fish. The boys caught LOTS of fish and they couldn’t keep from smiling all day—I think they were more tired from smiling than fishing!  I don’t think we could have asked for a better experience and I know that I’ll be calling Captain Rene again when we’re heading back for more. If you’re thinking about chartering a trip to fish in Galveston,  I wholeheartedly recommend Captain Rene and Bravo Zulu.

We had an AM trip booked and it was looking like the weather was gonna be an issue and we had some flexibility so captain Rene worked with us and constantly watched the weather. Luckily he didn’t have anything else booked that day and postponed our trip until 3 that afternoon. It still wasn’t ideal with wind conditions but he still put us on some fish. Wish we could’ve caught more but it was still a great time. He was constantly working to keep a rod in our hands and communicating with other guides to see how other fishing spots were. It was also the latter part of the season but all in all it was great. We’ll be going back in more of a prime season and recommend him and Bravo Zulu to others

We booked through Bravo Zulu charters and were able to communicate what to expect with Rene leading up to the visit. He conacted me several times to ensure all questions were answered prior to departure. Rene was also accomodating with our kids on their first trip (14, 6 and 3 years old) and helped teach them the tricks of fishing the rocks. Not only did my family and I get a great fishing experience and catch a ton of sheepshead, a couple catfish, a small shark and a huge red drum, but we also got a history overview of the area as we drove around. I would recommend Rene to anyone looking for a fishing experience in the Jettys of Galveston Island!

Our day fishing with Captain Rene was awesome and everything I hoped for!  Right away I was pleasantly surprised to see that Captain Rene only does private events. I expected to share the boat with others, but he chuckled and said “No, I only do private parties”. It was just like you had a buddy with a great fishing boat who knew all the good spots! Captain Rene went out of his way to make sure we had a successful day.  My son gets motion sick pretty bad, so Captain Rene took us out to the jetties for a bit until he could see my son had enough.  We got on some good drums, but eventually the spot died out.  Our next logical step was further down the jetty, but that meant heavier seas.  Instead he took us around the harbor to a couple secret spots to make sure we walked away with a huge haul.  Once we finally found a great spot by a pier where we started pulling them in consistently, Captain Rene let us stay overtime to capitalize on the hot location. This overtime really let us go home happy with a ton of fish! Thanks Captain Rene for making our trip a blast!!

I’ve booked fishing trips with other charters, but this was the first time with Captain Rene.  I can honestly say I will never book another charter with anyone else but Bravo Zulu.  The boat was clean, the gear is top notch, and Captain Rene has numerous spots to catch all the fish.  He’s so accommodating and helpful. He truly made this our best fishing experience ever.  I will only fish with Captain Rene…he’s awesome!!!!
