We went out out and landed about a dozen fish 🐠 , we got to see dolphins 🐬 and huge group came right past us.
The Capital is easy going when our time was up he let us know, but water was smooth and sun just came out we asked for an hour of time and Captain Mel worked it in.
A beautiful day on a great boat, I will be back.

This trip exceeded our expectations!!
First of all, the communication prior to the trip was spot on and easy. Mel was easy to get a hold of, gave us a run down of what we needed and where would would meet, this made preparation easy. Finding him was also easy and was conveniently right by the bathrooms. The boat was well maintained, all of the gear worked, he had plenty of bait and had all the extras. Mel is very personable, knowledgeable, easy to talk to and helpful. He’s like hanging out with a friend that loves fishing and the water.

Down to the fishing: We were so fortunate l! Mel picked a spot and we started hitting them about 5 minutes in. We’d drop the line and set the hook within a minute. We probably caught close to 30 fish within an hour. We caught a variety of fish. He will filet the fish for you as well! Ten fish max to keep. We did not keep ours because we didn’t have the means to cook them.

We really got lucky with the weather; calm water, 70 degrees and no wind.

Then we got even luckier with the dolphins joining our boat and swimming next to us. Totally unexpected surprise!!

For the price of this trip and experience of the captain it was an absolute steal.

I would recommend this trip to everyone! I have some bass fishing experience and my friend had zero experience. We both had a blast. I can’t say you’ll have the same experience we did, but I can guarantee that Mel will try his best to make it worth it for you!

As for using this site to book, we were first time users and a little skeptical but it’s legit!

My husband and I had a blast out on the water with Captain Mel!  We didn’t catch as much as we would have liked, but it was enough for the two of us to enjoy one meal.  Captain Mel did a great job helping us first-timers with the equipment, moving the boat around to new spots when the fish weren’t biting, and cleaned the fish for us to take back home. It was just the three of us on the boat, and Captain Mel even took us out 20 minutes early and let us stay until the original ending time to make sure we had the best experience possible.  Thank you, Captain Mel and Fishers of Men SD, for a wonderful first experience!

It all started with some rough weather. The Captian called us and told us we should wait an hour to 2 so the weather could pass….good call because there were some lightning strikes very close to the area!!  We meet soon after the weather cleared. We caught 1 fish in the 1st spot but no luck for several hours. We tried many other areas and were about to head in. Mel decided to try one last spot before heading in….even better call!  We caught another six fish at the last minute. We had a blast!!  Thank you Mel for all your hard work and determination!!

We went out for a full day and everyone caught fish.

Captain was courteous and attentive to bait and angler needs while keeping our hooks in the water.

Thanks again for a great experience. Bring some warm clothes if you are cold natured. We left 120 degree Las Vegas temps for 69 degree water &  San Diego June gloom.
