Spend a relaxing day in Tampa Bay with Down Range Charters! Captain Mike is a US Army veteran with a huge passion for fishing. He enjoys teaching other people and helping them to get their catch on their own. He loves that you don’t have to land the biggest fish out there in order to enjoy fishing. It’s not about the chase, it’s about spending some time in nature and having a short break from reality.
You’ll be fishing on a 24’ Skeeter Bay boat that accommodates up to 4 guests. This center console is powered by a 250 HP Mercury engine and reaches the speed of 40 knots. The boat features GPS, a fish finder, a cooler, and a live bait tank. Offering a safe and reliable ride at all times, this vessel is just what you need for an enjoyable day on the water.
These bountiful waters offer lots of options, even if you explore only inshore spots. You can go after Snook, Jack Crevalle, Spanish Mackerel, Redfish, Tarpon, and many more. There’s a variety of fishing techniques to use and you can fill out your bucket by the end of the day. The best part is that you can keep the catch and Capt. Mike will clean it for you free of charge.
Your licenses and fishing equipment are included in the price. It’s easy to get ready for the trip since you only need to pack sunblock, some snacks, and drinks.

Such a Wonderful Time

My friends and I booked a 4hr trip with Captain Michael, and it was so much fun!
Though it was unexpectedly very windy and we weren't able to fish like in the original plan, the captain took care to check different locations for the best fishing working with what we could.
He is extremely funny, and entertaining and shared so much knowledge and history of the area as well.
Captain Michael was also very patient an understanding as we were arriving a little later than scheduled. He also was able to extend the trip time a little bit because of trying to find locations not affected too badly by the wind.
We didn't catch a ton of fish, but was still able to catch a couple of keeper redfish.
He also gave recommendations on how best to cook it and I went with the blackened redfish in the oven which turned out amazing!
The highlight was the end of the trip when heading back to the boat ramp, he saw dolphins and was able to engage them to follow the boat for quite a while (around 7min or so).
Definitely highly recommend, and would book with him again if we are ever in the area.

My boyfriend and I went on this charter as an anniversary trip and Captain Michael was great! He was very knowledgeable about the area and the fish and even gave us fun facts about the history around the places we were fishing at. In the beginning, we weren’t catching any fish and Captain Michael was quick to take us to different spots and show us different fishing holes we can try. Even when we were closing on the end of our trip, he asked us if we wanted to stay out longer to catch more fish as they weren’t biting. Very grateful that he did, as we ended up catching a red fish and seeing snook and tarpon! He was super nice and attentive and gave a lot of helpful fishing advice and tips. It was hot, but a great day to be out on the water. Definitely a 10/10 experience, and we will be back!

We had an amazing experience on a private charter fishing trip with Captain Michael. From the moment we stepped on board, he made us feel welcome and comfortable. He’s incredibly friendly, patient, and knowledgeable — especially when it comes to fishing!
Captain Michael gave us plenty of great tips and techniques that really paid off. Thanks to his guidance, we ended up catching trout, redfish, and even a snook! Although the snook was out of season and we had to release it, the thrill of catching it made the trip even more exciting.
It was a fun and memorable day for the whole family. We appreciated how Captain Michael went above and beyond to make sure everyone had a great time. We’ll definitely be booking with him again — highly recommend!

Amazing Experience

My 13-year old son and I booked a 4 hour charter with Captain Michael. My son had an incredible time. We caught 5 mackerel, a grunt snapper, a snook and even a blacktip shark. Michael was determined to make sure we caught as many fish as we could and wasn't watching the clock at all at the end of the time. He filleted the mackerel for us and even showed my son how to do it and let him do a couple of the fish. He was incredibly patient with him and made it a great experience. We couldn't have had a better charter and would enthusiastically recommend him.

I got to the boat slip early to scope things out. The launch site is not to crowded
Captain Michael was right on time, ten minutes later we are in the bay & on the first spot one minute later we are pulling in speckled trout. M daughter cough the smallest one but made it up on red fish she cough the largest on the boat, this was a very good trip & we had so much fun & well worth the time & heat it is the end of July & you will enjoy every minute. Thanks Captain Michael we enjoyed the day and the stories, looking forward when we can find the time for an another trip.
