Join Sure Shot Fishing Charters, located at the world-famous Flora-Bama Lounge and Oyster Bar in Orange Beach, Alabama. This family-owned business is now led by Captain Mike who has over 30 years of experience fishing the local waters.

Captain Mike is a relaxed and flexible captain who says everyone is welcome on his charters. Families are welcome, and so are their dogs, kittens, or even parrots. Captain Mike wants everyone to enjoy a true family adventure!

Fishing is done aboard a 42’ custom-built commercial boat that offers a clean, comfortable and air-conditioned ride. This beauty is powered by two 330 HP engines, which means you’ll get to the deeper fishing grounds quickly and efficiently, so you have plenty of fishing time. The vessel has a toilet, a shower, a bed, a kitchen, and a TV for your convenience.

Capt. Mike will locate the best spots and provide as much instruction as you need to reel in the fish of your dreams. There are other useful extras on the boat such as a flybridge and outriggers for trolling, and top quality fishing gear used for light and heavy tackle.

Sure Shot specializes in bottom fishing for Red Snapper, Amberjack, a variety of Grouper, Triggerfish, and anything else that will bite the hook. They also offer trolling trips for Bull Redfish, King Mackerel, and Spanish Mackerel. And if fishing the deeper waters is your thing, you can do that too! Targeted species include Mahi Mahi, Sailfish, Tuna, and more.

Capt. Mike and Sure Shot Fishing Charters invite you to join their fishing team for a fun-filled day. An experienced deckhand will be there to help you with reeling in your catch. Families with no experience are welcome: the crew enjoys teaching!

Outstanding Charter

6 Hour Trip – Trolling/Bottom on August 18, 2025 • 4 adults • 2 children

There was so many great things about our charter it’s hard to pick out a few. Captain very friendly, sense of humor, truly wanted to give a welcoming environment and experience, the deck hand same. They were both chatty , but without feeling like you were just avoiding awkward silence. The boat was great. The AC cabin was a game changer when going fishing with younger children (9,13). They could escape the heat when needed and engage in the action when they had cooled off. Of course c the most important part! Could they get us on the fish? YES. I’ve had about a dozen charters in my life, but non could top this. We did the troll/bottom fishing 6 hour. Perfect length. Even though we could have been back to the dock in half that time, cause the Captain put us on the honey hole and we limited out on big and bigger red snapper in about 1 hour. I say an hour but it was probably quicker. But they didn’t stop here. We just did an extended trolling portion of the trip and caught another 12-16 fish on the way back in. Over all this was one of the greatest days on the water I’ve had. Everyone had a great time. We ranged from 9 years old to 65. And I’d book again in this boat and this captain in a heart beat. Matter fact I’d probably plan my trip around his availability, it was that good. Do yourself a favor and book your trip , even if it was only half as good as ours it would be a great day!!! Thank you for making core memories for my two sons.

Captin Mike and Firstmate Kim are incredibly knowledgeable of the waters we were Fishing in . Fishing Came very quickly and we legit caught so many we were actually tired and had to take a break . Kim is on point with rigging and very knowledgeable in her trade . aswell as cleaning our fish 🐟 seriously just the best charter you could have . We will see you all again .

Fantastic Family-Friendly Trip with a Hard-Working Crew!

6 Hour Trip – Trolling/Bottom on June 13, 2025 • 3 adults • 3 children

We had an amazing morning 6-hour fishing charter with Sure Shot Fishing Charters out of Orange Beach! Our group included 3 adults and 3 kids (all under 11), and from start to finish, Captain Mike and his crew made it a great experience. Captain Mike called us before the trip to walk through what to expect, review the fishing and weather conditions, and let us know what to bring. That personal touch really helped us prepare and get excited. The fishing didn’t disappoint! We landed several beautiful Red Snappers and even a Tuna. When the first couple of spots didn’t produce as many fish as Captain Mike wanted, he didn’t hesitate to keep moving and working hard to find a better location. We were even competing with dolphins at times who were snatching bait and fish, but Captain Mike kept us on the move until he got us on a hot spot. His persistence paid off. Our deckhand was absolutely incredible—super knowledgeable, patient, and great with both the adults and especially the kids. She explained the gear, gave helpful tips on technique, and made sure the young anglers felt confident and helped them land their big fish. All in all, it was a memorable trip for our whole family. If you’re looking for a fun, professional, and family-friendly fishing experience in Orange Beach, we highly recommend Sure Shot Fishing Charters!

Captain Mike and deck hand Brad was fantastic. He would move the boat to keep us on fish instead of Justin’s in one spot. Put us on some big red snapper along with a few other species we caught. Brad was also fantastic as he kept us baited and rods in the water. He took time with my grandson who loves fishing and showed him how to tie knots and other things. Stuff like that makes the trip for me

Snappers Galore!!!

6 Hour Trip – Trolling/Bottom on June 20, 2025 • 6 adults

Had a great morning fishing with Capt Mike and his wonderful deckhand Kim! They were both very knowledgeable and explained the process of everything we were doing. We quickly caught our limit of Red Snapper with a bonus Red Grouper and had plenty of time to troll back in and catch a few Spanish Mackerel and a small Tuna! Great day on the water and looking forward to fishing with Sure Shot again!!
