My dad surprised me with a fishing trip while we were vacationing in Florida.  Clay was absolutely wonderful.  We really enjoyed getting to know him and converse.  He has a wealth of knowledge about the area and what you can expect going out.  The equipment was great and he was happy to help as much or little as requested. He was so quick to bait another pole heck I don’t think there was a moment in our trip I didn’t have one in my hand ready to cast out haha My dad and I caught some great redfish to take home and eat :) Thank you for such a wonderful experience, sir!

We had an absolutely wonderful time on our inshore fishing trip with Captain Clay Philips! His experience and knowledge of the local waters made the day both exciting and productive. We caught an amazing variety of fish, including Redfish, Bluefish, Mangrove Snapper, Jacks, Trout, and even Sheephead! If you fish in Florida, you know how great the fishing can be in the spring. You also know the fickle the weather can be.
My wife and I are from Tampa and have always fished the west coast for redfish, trout and snook. We decided to try the other coast for a change.

I found Captain Clay Philips online and was able to book a trip in late March with him.

Mother Nature threw a rough day at us with wind and tides. Captain Clay worked hard despite the conditions and although we didn’t load the boat, we managed to catch dinner.

To me, anyone can catch fish when the conditions are great. The mark of a good Captain is how they handle it when the fishing is tough and Captain Clay pulled out all the stops, trying different techniques and locations. 

His combination of patience and personality would suit any angler, from the novice to the old pro.

We are already planning a fall trip with him and I would recommend him to anyone looking to fish in the Crescent Beach/St. Augustine area.

I booked the fishing trip as a treat for my parents who were visiting. My dad loves fishing but isint able to go much. We also took my 9 year old daughter for her first time fishing. I loved that Clay had everything and did everything so my family could just enjoy, hold the pole and catch the fish. Clay has done this for a very long time so he knew everything about the river, the fish and where to go. We saw turtles, dolphins and even caught a shark. Clay cleaned the red fish we caught and we ate it for dinner. It was a trip my family will remember and we will definitely call Clay for a trip next time my parents visit!

This trip was perfect for us.  Due to health reasons I had not been out fishing in a while.  I needed calm waters and an easily accessible boat.  And our Captain knew just the right spots.  My husband and I had a great time catching a number of species.  My husband caught reds, a huge flounder and a trout.  I caught a variety of fish, notable a couple of Jack Crevelle that put up a good fight.  We even saw several sea turtles, several dolphin and even a manatee.  We will be returning soon.
