Mike’s Fishing Charters operates one of the largest and most diverse fleets in Puerto Vallarta, with a mix of trips to match. Book yourself in for anything from 4 to 16 hours, targeting species as diverse as Jacks and Marlin.
Spend the morning fishing the shallow inlets and inshore waters of the Banderas Bay, or blow straight past them and out of the bay itself to offshore spots like the infamous El Banco. Whatever you do, do it in style aboard an awesome boat with the latest and greatest in fishing tech and equipment.
You will be fishing aboard the “Piquis”, a 46’ custom built sportfishing juggernaut. This luxury vessel was completely overhauled in 2014 and now features a fully air-conditioned interior with an enclosed head and tons of space to relax in the cool after intense battles up on deck. She can carry up to 18 guests, but is best-suited to no more than 8-10 anglers
The Piquis comes armed for battle with outriggers, a fighting chair, a livewell full of fresh live bait to tempt in the biggest fish, and tournament-grade tackle from Penn International to bring them in once they take the bait.
Where you fish depends entirely on how much time you have. On four and six-hour charters you will stay in the bay, targeting Spanish Mackerel, Jack Crevalle, Roosterfish, Bonito, Skipjack Tuna, and Cubera Snapper. Book in for eight hours and you can start heading further out, hitting El Morro to target Roosterfish, Sailfish, Mahi Mahi, and occasionally Marlin.
After that, things really start heating up. Head out to El Faro, la Corbeteña, and finally El Banco, the ultimate destination for any angler wanting to pit themselves against the biggest and fiercest fish in the sea. This is the realm of huge Blue and Black Marlin, monster Hammerhead Sharks, massive Yellowfin Tuna, and more.
Whatever you are looking for, you are bound to find it with Mike’s Fishing Charters. So head down to Puerto Vallarta and get ready for a trip you will never forget.
