Everything from booking to the fishing went great! After I booked the trip, David, was in touch about the trip and the type of fishing we’d be doing. He got in touch again the day before the trip to confirm meeting place, time and number of bait. The shiners are the way to go if you want to catch fish! We had several boats around us fishing artificials and they got nothing while we reeled ‘em in. We caught over 30 fish with a couple of 6 pounders and a lot of 3-5 pounders.
David was attentive, social and really wanted to make sure I had the best time. We didn’t have to move around ‘cause the fish kept coming, but he was ready with different spots if we needed them.
I plan on going out again with David and highly recommend anyone that wants to go out on Toho for bass get a date booked with “Paycheck”!

Fishing with Captain Dave is more like fishing with a buddy and not a charter, but you catch a ton of fish!!  We caught about 45 Bass in 4 hours!!  A couple in the 4 lbs range and 1 6 lbs. 

Dave went above and beyond to find the fish as his normal fishing hole went cold (all done before the trip)and he hit a homerun!!  45 Bass in 4 hours and we didn’t move once, he set the position lock and left it!!

My son is a very hyper 15 year old with a short attention span and normally has his phone in his face, fishing with Dave kept his attention for the full 4 hours (he caught the 6 pounder as the last fish of the day at the 4 hr mark) and when we got back to the car I asked if he had his phone on the boat (he did) cause I didn’t see it once!!

We kept Dave busy for the full 4 hrs with all the fish we caught and he was always right there to help!!  Net the fish, help get the hook out, take a pic, put on a new shiner.  He was quick at them all!!  The only time I had to wait was if he was helping my son because we both caught fish at the same time.  Poor Dave didn’t have a second to relax.

I would highly recommend Dave for everyone!!

If you have limited or no experience Dave will set you up with everything you need and teach you everything you need to know.  He was awesome teaching my son!  Very patient and spoke in a way he understood easily!!

Captain David took us out for an incredible day on the water. He found the fish, and we had a blast.
He made my 2 sons ages 12 and 7 feel very comfortable and he was a great instructor to them.
We had some laughs, caught a bunch of fish, and landed a huge bass.
David is professional,  knowledgeable,  and is a great Captain.  The boys must have asked him 100 questions,  and he answered every one of them, and we all had a great time.
It was an experience we will never forget. We will definitely be booking with David again on our next visit.

Linked up with Dave for two days fishing whilst travelling the U.S with my partner while on our honeymoon and we had an absolute blast, it’s hard for me to find people as crazy and passionate about fishing as I am but Dave if not equals me but probably goes a step above. He is extremely knowledgeable on the areas he fishes and more than competent with all aspects of angling be it live baiting, throwing jigs into heavy cover, top water and everything in between. I had a great time on the water not just fishing but swapping stories and having laughs. If you’re looking for a guide in the Orlandl area whether it be for a full day, half day or even just a quick little taste test then Capn Dave is 1000% your man. If you go out and don’t have a good time with this bloke it speaks more about you than it does him!

This was an amazing experience. I went with my father-in-law to celebrate both our birthdays. The meeting time was 6:45am, when we arrived like at 6:37am, David was already there getting ready to drop his boat in the lake. We had a little chat at the coffee place in the marina where he gave us a little education about fishing and shared part of his life story. At 7:15am we got on the boat and went fishing. The first 5 minutes, my FIL had a fish already in the boat, 30 mins later, I think we fished close to 8 fish already, we let the small ones go and some of the biggest ones as well. David was always explaining to us everything about the lake and fish behavior, I can tell we were getting more fish that the boats around us. He kept casting, changing live baits and always changing our rods to optimize our chances of getting fish. This trip was AMAZING and a beautiful experience, we left a generous tip to David because he deserved it, his services and personality were astounding. You won’t regret doing this.
