Sea Star CR is run by a local fishing family that operates out of Playas del Coco. Join the captain on a Pacific Sea Adventure and make the most of his 25 years of experience on these waters. Our mission is to share our passion for the Costa Rican coast and responsible sport fishing. We know the best fishing spots in the area and can put you right on the fish!
You will go out aboard the “Sea Star I”, a 26’ Robalo center console. She comes powered by a 200 HP Yamaha 4-stroke outboard engine, Penn International Reels, fresh bait, and much more. Perfect for accommodating up to five adult guests, the “Sea Star I” is a comfortable touring boat with a private head, retractable roof cover for shade and rain, as well as snorkel and wakeboard gear for some fun in the water.
Sea Star CR will take you out for some unforgettable deep-sea fishing. We pride ourselves on tailoring your adventure to your wishes, and whichever specific need you may have, the crew will make it happen. You can enjoy some catch-and-release action for Sailfish and Roosterfish, as well as targeting tasty Tuna, Mackerel, Mahi-Mahi, Snapper, Wahoo, and Amberjack.
If you want to taste your catch right on board the “Sea Star I”, the crew can make ceviche or sashimi. Or you can take your catch to a local restaurant to taste it for dinner!
The trips are all-inclusive. You will be provided with quality gear and tackle, as well as bait, lures, and a license. All you need to bring is your desire to catch the fish and have fun doing it!

Unforgettable Fishing Adventure in Costa Rica!
Our group of four recently had an absolutely incredible fishing trip in Costa Rica, and we can't recommend it highly enough! From start to finish, the experience exceeded our expectations. We set out hoping for a good day of fishing, and we were rewarded with an abundance of action. We landed a variety of fish, including feisty jack crevalle, delicious snapper, and an impressive five tuna! The thrill of reeling in each one was fantastic, and the variety kept everyone engaged. The crew was absolutely fantastic. They were incredibly helpful and knowledgeable, providing expert guidance and assistance throughout the day. Their enthusiasm was contagious, and they clearly wanted us to have a great time. They were quick to bait hooks, untangle lines, and offer tips on technique. Beyond the fishing, the trip was made even better by the thoughtful touches. We were provided with plenty of snacks and a delicious lunch, ensuring we were well-fed and energized for the day. The boat was comfortable and well-maintained, adding to the overall positive experience. Most importantly, everyone in our group had an absolute blast. The combination of excellent fishing, a fantastic crew, and beautiful scenery created an unforgettable day on the water. If you're looking for a top-notch fishing experience in Costa Rica, look no further! We'll definitely be booking another trip with them in the future.

Great day with great crew
Captain Moses and his crew Joshua and Alex were very friendly and knowledgeable I'm taking generational fishermen. We ended up catching 9 yellow tail, 5 blacktail and a baby bull shark which was a struggle to bring in but had to release. The entire trip the crew were helpful and. Informative. Half Day Trip - Sportfishing - AM
Great Morning!
Our family of 5 took a morning fishing trip looking for rooster fish. Our captain knew exactly where to go and was very thoughtful host with plenty of shade, snacks and drinks. After several nibbles we hooked two rooster fish at the same time! My boys were thrilled and exhausted after bringing them in, the crew was very helpful in bringing both fish in safely, getting a few photos and then returning them to the ocean. It's a memory we will always have!

What a day!!!
This was my last Costa Rican adventure for 50th bday and it was a BLAST!!! Moises and Alex The Chef 😂 were awesome! On time, definitely knowledgeable, and super friendly! They got me on the fish early! Snapper, a couple rooster fish and a jack crevalle! Truly a trip to remember!! I strongly recommend these guys if you are looking for a charter!!
