Our family of 4 booked a 1/2 day deep sea fishing trip with Just Hook It Charters a couple weeks before arriving in Montego Bay. Our 2 sons ages 8 and 11 had been looking forward to this part of our vacation and couldn’t stop talking about all of the fish species they wanted to catch. We had great communication from the team prior to our trip. When we arrived at the docks we were greeted immediately and shown the way to the boat. The crew did a thorough job briefing us on the trip details and answering our questions. The weather wasn’t looking the best as there were going to be storms moving in throughout the morning. They wanted to head out to deep water (5-8 miles offshore) and target some larger fish right away. This turned out to be the right move as the captain spotted a sailfish feeding soon after arriving to deeper waters. We were able to successfully land a beautiful sailfish which was the highlight of our trip to Jamaica. After this amazing catch (and release) they changed out baits and we tried to catch some smaller species so the kids could have some fun. The weather and rougher waters made this somewhat challenging and the crew did their absolute best to try and put us on fish. Unfortunately we did not catch anything else, but the crew did a great job keeping the kids engaged - even when our oldest son became a little seasick. I have no doubt that if we had booked for a full day we would have had more success. I would recommend this charter to anyone looking to spend a great day on the water with their family. I have booked charters before, and this was truly a top notch experience. I got to catch a new personal best fish, and our family has some fun new stories to share. [Bonus - we got to see dolphins swimming alongside the boat, and even spotted a large sea turtle on our way back to shore!]

What an amazing experience today on just hook it fishing. From the moment we arrived to when we left the crew were so attentive. Steven Derrick and shane were amazing. They knew we wanted to try to catch a marlin and they tried their best for us. They kept some big lures in the water after them while also Trying smaller lures to catch other fish to keep us occupied.we ended up catching 3 mahi mahi and 2 skipjack tuna but sadly no marlin but that was not because they hadn’t tried they were swapping lures regular to try to achieve our goal. I would recommend just hook it to anyone. Steven Derrick and shane u are an asset to your company. Once again thanks for your help and effort guys we had an amazing day.

I highly recommend this company. We have been on many excursions in the Caribbean and this was by far the best. Our family of 6 (3 adults & 3 kids - 17, 16 & 11 years old) had an amazing trip. The team on the boat were perfect. Captain - Kevin, First Mate - Shawn & Second Mate - Tonyk (spelling??) were extremely friendly, helpful, fun, easy going and knowledgeable. They went out of their way to make sure we enjoyed ourselves the whole time & had the best time possible. We got a large Wahoo & seven Tunas. We came in on a cruise ship & the owner Sasha arranged transportation to and from our cruise ship to the Yacht Club where the boat is docked. The boat team even helped us talk to Donavan the driver to have him drive us around for an hour afterwards to get authentic Jamaican food & shop. Took time when we got back to take all the pictures we wanted with the fish. Only regret is we only booked 4 hours. Wish we would have booked 6 hours.

From the time we booked our charter we were impressed! Communication with Captain Sascha was great. Our charter had to be postponed due to weather, but they accommodated our vacation schedule. They arranged transportation for us from our resort to the Yacht Club and back. The boat was neat, clean and well cared for. The tackle used was up to date and in great condition! Captain Stephen and First Mate Derek were awesome!!! Very friendly and personable! They tried everything to get us on fish, but it just wasn’t a good day. We still had a great time and won’t hesitate to book with Just Hook It Charters in the future!
