First Light Charters
Welcome aboard First Light Charters! We love being on the water for the first light of the day with a fishing rod in hand. Captain Chris was raised in Kitty Hawk and grew up fishing, surfing, and hunting all over the Outer Banks. Whether you are on a hot bite or just taking in a new perspective of the Outer Banks, Captain Chris loves to show you a good time! Ask questions! He wants this to be a fun learning experience!
Start your fishing trip aboard a brand new 2022 24’ custom KenCraft Bay Rider. The skinny draft of a flat bottom boat helps you get into the shallow waters that many boats cannot access. Capt. Chris chooses to fish in a Bay Rider because of its stability and open fishing area. You can comfortably fish with 4 anglers on board.
The trips focus on fishing over grass flats in search of Redfish and Speckled Trout. We love fishing for Sheepshead, Black Drum, Bluefish and Sea Mullet when conditions are right. We will take you to the most productive fishing grounds with the best chance of catching fish! Locations change daily depending on your interest and weather conditions. If you’re looking to stay in sight of land and catch some dinner our trip is for you!
As parents, the crew recommends your children are 5 years old or more to come aboard. They are outfitted with youth life jackets that must be worn at all times for children under 12.
Once aboard, you are covered by an NC blanket fishing license. The crew outfits the boat with quality new Penn and Daiwa fishing rods and reels yearly. All tackle and bait are also included. Capt. Chris makes sure all you have to do is cast and reel them in!
