This was our second trip with Southern Mayhem in the last 2 years. When I knew we were heading to Orlando over Christmas the first thing I did was check to see if Cole had an opening and thankfully he did. His knowledge of the species and habitat is second to none. His equipment is top notch. He works his tail off to give you a great experience and get you in fish.

The weather leading up to trip was unseasonably cold and a storm front had moved through the day prior. Cole reached that fishing had been tough but they were able to land a couple drum; he graciously offered for us to cancel our trip but we declined. It’s called fishing, not catching.

We started our day at 7 AM with the bait box full of mullet that Cole had already netted that morning. Started fishing some docks and was a little slow as the sun had not popped out enough to start warming the water. With that said I did have a really nice red fish that spit the hook at the boat. We moved into a marina looking for snook but no luck so on we went. Got into a canal around a dock for some sheepshead and found them. Cole had a variety of bait which allowed us to find that shrimp was on their menu! Also picked up a few mangrove here.

After working through this area we moved on to some mangrove off another canal. This is where the day was made. Started with some sight fishing as we worked our way into canal. Once in the canal we found black drum, spotted sea trout and snook.

We were able to land a couple eater drum which Cole was more than happy to fillet out for us to take back to our rental.

I cannot say enough good things about Southern Mayhem. Don’t pass on Captain Cole if he has an opening is all I can say!

Cole was very personable and super easy to converse with! My wife and I had a fantastic time! Although we didn’t catch as many fish as we hoped, we had plenty of opportunities, and it wasn’t for the lack of trying! Cole brought us to several different spots, so we could get the chance to hook into a big one! All in all, I would recommend a trip with him, and I’ll definitely be doing another trip in the future if I’m vacationing in the area again!

Took my two boys (20 & 15) for a 4 hours adventure with Captain Cole today. Was so much fun. Right out the gate my oldest landed this “70-80lb” tarpon. We couldn’t bring into the boat because it is protected. It’s ok though because it was exactly what I was looking for for my boys to experience. I wish my younger one was able to fight a fish like that but he was able to land some trout and catfish. Cole was so cool and knowledgeable about the area, I could’ve talked to him all day. If I was able to do again, I would’ve asked to stay in the tarpon area longer instead of the dock fishing but Cole wanted us to go for a variety of fish which I understand and appreciate. My boys just wanted the larger fight fish, especially after we experienced the one so early. Thanks for such a great experience for me and my boys Cole and I wish you nothing but the best as your business grows.

Captain Cole was a perfect captain. He was personable, knowledgeable and tailored our trip specifically for us. His communication was professional and timely. It was a great balance of quality and quantity. We tried for trophies and switched to more quantity fish like snapper and trout, then switched back to get one trophy. He came through by putting us on a 50” tarpon that my 9 year old caught! He has a really nice boat that makes for a stable area to have some fun with 4 fisherman without feeling too crowded. I will be booking him next trip to cocoa beach!

Great day fishing. We caught every species of fish we had hoped to. Even hooked and landed two Tarpon. Captain Cole is very knowledgeable about the fish in the area and the tactics used to catch them. Would love to do this trip again.
