Southern Mayhem Fishing Charters
A day on the water with Southern Mayhem Fishing Charters has endless opportunities. Depending on the season, weather conditions, and what species you would like to focus on targeting, Captain Cole can put you on fish from up to five miles out of Port Canaveral to deep in the Thousand Islands area of Cocoa Beach.
One of the things that are unique about this charter service is the versatility in locations to fish. Places you can go fishing in include the Indian River Lagoon, Banana River Lagoon, Sebastian Inlet, Port Canaveral, and the beaches in between.
Here on the Space Coast, each season presents new and exciting opportunities. It’s great to pitch live and artificial baits to mangroves, docks, and other structures within the river. This tactic typically provides trophy Snook, Redfish, Trout, and Tarpon year-round. This way of fishing also comes with the excitement of the unknown. You never know when a huge Snook or Redfish is going to come blowing out of a mangrove and explode on your bait!
In the wintertime and springtime, the water quality in both lagoons typically improves, which allows for some exciting sight fishing for monster reds in the Cocoa Beach area. Sight fish Tripletail and Cobia, or go after Snook.
Over the summer months, massive bait pods of pogies and Threadfins move inshore to the beaches between Port Canaveral and Sebastian Inlet. I run the beaches following the bait pods, and targeting Snook, Kingfish, and monster Tarpon that reach weights well over 100 pounds! During the summer months, monster Snook also moves into the Sebastian Inlet, and along the beaches to breed. It is not uncommon to catch multiple fish in the 40-inch range during this time of the year. Southern Mayhem Fishing Charters practices catch and release, with the slight seasonal exception of keeping mangrove snapper and sheepshead.
With Southern Mayhem Fishing Charters, something’s always biting. The only question is – when are you coming?
