Come visit Pacific Roots Adventures and fish the famous Buoy 10 fishery out of Astoria, Oregon!  You will be targeting trophy fish as well as enjoy the beautiful nature that embraces this whole area. You will be in the safe hands of Captain Kyle Uptegrove, a skilled angler who will guide you and make sure you have a great day on the water, so come aboard and see what the might Columbia River has to offer!

You will be fishing out of a new 23’ Alumaweld aluminum fishing boat big enough to accommodate up to 12 guests. It is powered by a 149 HP Mercury engine and uses modern GPS as well as fishfinder technology that allows for a safe and efficient trip to the fish and back.

You and the captain will chase fish by trolling and your targets will be prized Coho and Chinook Salmon as well as Sturgeon. If you want to, you’re free to keep the fish you catch and take it home to enjoy delicious meals. If not, simply release it back into the water. You can also bring kids on your trip as it can be a great opportunity for you to have a wonderful family stay in nature.

Captain Kyle will provide you with the rods, best G Loomis and Shimano reels, tackle, bait, as well as snacks, freshly brewed coffee, and a good time! He will also clean and fillet your catch at the end of the trip. The only thing you should bring is your fishing license.

    Sturgeon is one of Captain Kyle's favorite fish to catch. In Astoria, you can fish from the end of May through July for these prized fighting species. Captain Kyle is a local to the area. He has been fishing since he was a kid, and he loves it, as well as teaching people how to do it. Seeing how excited people get when they catch their first fish is one of his favorite things in the world. "I have been fishing the Oregon Coast and the Portland area for over 20 years. It has been my passion for years and I love to see people catching their first Salmon and Steelhead."
