Orcas Island Charter offers an experience you’ll rarely find. Based in West Sound Bay (Orcas Island), Captain Colby and his crew invite you to join them for a day of fun and adventure. Spend a few hours on a unique, vintage boat and enjoy some time in nature. The trips are suitable for anglers of all skill levels, including children and beginners.

The boat you’ll be fishing from is truly one of a kind. She’s a 40’ Alden Trawler classic boat that accommodates up to 6 guests. The boat was originally built in 1935 for Henry Warren and fully restored in 2020. More beautiful than ever, this boat will show you how to have an exciting fishing adventure, all while enjoying a classy and elegant ride.

The vessel is powered by twin Isuzu engines and has modern navigational electronics. There’s a private toilet, an enclosed cabin with kitchen appliances, and a room to rest after hardcore fishing.

Choose between a private or a shared trip and go after a variety of local fish species, such as Lingcod, Halibut, Pollock, Dogfish, and Cod. When the season is open, you’ll also have a chance to add some crabbing and shrimping to the mix.

You can bring your own fishing equipment or rent it from the crew. Make sure to bring your fishing license and pack some food and drinks for the day.

    Our seasonal crab adventure trip operates daily from July 14 through September 18. This 3-hour tour departs from West Sound Public Dock on Orcas Island. Crabbing is closed on Tuesday and Wednesday. During this adventure, we will be crab pot fishing in West Sound Bay for Dungeness, Tanner, and Rock Crab. Pot rental is available at $10 per pot, including bait. The limit is 2 per guest. Or you can bring your own. Must have a Washington State fishing license with Puget Sound Crab endorsement. Up to 6 guests.

    This 6-hour trip gives you ample time to explore the waters surrounding Eastbound. You’re encouraged to bring your own fishing equipment as rentals are limited. If you’d like to use live bait, make sure to pre-order it from the crew. There will be coolers, ice, snacks, and drinks on board. All you need to bring is a fishing license! Departure time is flexible.

You'll have the unique experience of fishing from a fully-restored vintage boat from the 1930s. Anglers of all skill levels and children are welcome aboard!
