Our fishing trip was on Wednesday, 2/28/2024.  A low-pressure system was bearing down hard on us with a high wind advisory for early evening.  We were scheduled for a 1PM (4 hr trip) departure.  Early on, Captain Andrew called us and ask if we would consider an earlier start time due to approaching weather system.  We agreed and met at 12 noon.  Partly cloudy and temps in low 70’s.  We headed out to Katrina Reef, near offshore.  Fishing, primarily, for red fish and sheepshead.  Water conditions were medium chop.  Our boat was well equipped to handle water conditions.  Captain Andrew, very aware of surroundings and conditions, always concerned for our comfort and well-being.  He knows how to make your trip special.

After reef fishing for a while, we moved to the back bay areas.  Fished several locations.  We fished with live shrimp and later frozen shrimp.  Captain Andrew stayed very busy keeping us baited up, making sure our equipment was at peak performance, and locating the best spots to board some fish.

All in all, this was a most enjoyable experience.  We caught a collection of red fish, sheepshead, flounder, and puppy drum.  Captain Andrew is so personable.  He sincerely wants your trip to be special.  This was a great day for my wife and self.  We will be back to fish with Captain Andrew again.

My recent fishing trip with Captain Andrew of Blackdot Charters was an absolute blast! From the moment I stepped aboard his pristine SeaHunt BX 24 center console, I knew I was in for an unforgettable experience. As we cruised through the Biloxi back bay, Captain Andrew expertly guided us to some of the most productive fishing spots, sharing his insights on the best techniques and bait to use for the various species we were targeting. His expertise was truly remarkable, and he had an uncanny ability to predict where the fish would be biting.

Throughout the day, we reeled in an impressive catch of sheepshead, and redfish. Captain Andrew’s patience and guidance were invaluable, as he helped me perfect my casting technique and provided helpful tips on how to land the fish.

What truly set this fishing charter apart was Captain Andrew’s genuine passion for sharing his love of the sport with others. He took the time to explain the different fishing techniques and the behaviors of the fish we were targeting, making the experience not only enjoyable but also educational. His enthusiasm was contagious, and he made sure that everyone on board had the opportunity to experience the thrill of catching their own fish.

In addition to his fishing prowess, Captain Andrew was also an excellent host, and he even cleaned and filleted our catch for us at the end of the trip. His attention to detail and genuine care for his guests made the entire experience truly memorable.

We started our day strong, catching a lot of fish, then the wind came and it slowed down some.  But, that didn’t stop our Captain Andrew from trying to find more.  He was persistent, knowledgeable about where to go, and how to fish each area.  It was fun to watch how accommodating he was to make sure everyone was having fun!

Myself, my wife, and daughter took an afternoon fishing trip with Captain Andy, and had the best time. It was a beautiful sunny day, but a little more windy than we would’ve liked. We all caught fish, too bad only 3 were keepers. It didn’t matter though, we had a great time. Captain Andy has a fantastic personality, so funny. When fish weren’t biting in 1 spot he quickly moved to another. Captain Andy expertly cleaned the fish we caught, and provided ice for our cooler to safely transport the fish home. Highly recommend taking a fishing charter with Captain Andy. I know we will again.

My friend and I caught several Jack fish, which put up an incredible fight. We stayed in that school of Jack’s for about 2 hours, my friend and I arms were worn out. We wanted get some Reds, flounder, and catfish so we moved to some other spots. There we both caught a Red about 36” long ( awesome battle getting them out n the boat) and I got caught 2 flounders, also a bonus stingray and my friend caught 3 catfish also a trout. To sum it up we had a awesome experience, the only regret is my friend wanted to catch a shark, maybe next time. We will highly recommend Captain Andrew Whitman with Blackdot fishing.
