Hunter Bach Charters welcomes you to the productive and beautiful waters of Mosquito Lagoon and New Smyrna Beach. Starting out of Edgewater, Oakhill, or the Merrit Island National Wildlife Refuge, you’ll have the chance to fish near the coast as well as explore the beautiful flats and backcountry waters of the famed Mosquito Lagoon. Captain Hunter Bach caters to anglers of all experience levels, whether you are an astute fly fisherman or a total beginner. A skilled and dedicated angler, he’s even been published in Florida Sportsman and Shallow Water Angler for his perspectives on fishing in the area.
The boat you will use for your trip is a restored 16’ Maverick Mirage flats boat with room for up to 2 guests. It runs on a 90 HP Tohatsu Direct Injection engine and uses GPS and a fishfinder. It also features a livewell and an ice-box.
You will launch from the George R. Kennedy Memorial Park boat ramp in Edgewater or the River Breeze Boat ramp in Oakhill and fish the flats and backcountry for Redfish, Trout, Snook, and more, as well as Tarpon seasonally, with fly tackle. The captain specializes in sight fishing the shallow flats of Mosquito Lagoon and will pole you through low mangrove and cabbage palm islands where you will quite literally hunt for game fish cruising the flats.
Captain Hunter will supply you with all the fishing equipment and you do not need to purchase a fishing license to fish on his boat. You just need to bring some food and drinks!
Spend a day fishing with Hunter Bach Charters and have a fishing trip to remember.
