Rainbreak Charters is here to take you on the fishing trip of a lifetime. Captain James Walker has 20 years of experience fishing as a captain and he'll teach you everything you need to know to fill the box. You'll learn how to catch bait and how to put out a trolling spread using outriggers and downriggers. He'll also show you how to make quick bottom rigs for bottom fishing.
By the end of your trip, you will have a real understanding of this beloved and respected sport. Pay a visit to the captain in St. Marys and enjoy a memorable offshore journey in Georgia.
The boat you'll be using is a 23' Mako center console that can sit up to 4 people. The engine it uses is a 300 HP Yamaha 2020 engine with a maximum cruising speed of 37 knots. The boat has all the modern GPS, fishfinder, radio, as well as radar technology for efficient navigation. She also comes equipped with outriggers, downriggers, and a livewell. If you want, a first mate can also join your trip.
You and the captain will search offshore waters, reefs, and wrecks for Mahi Mahi, Black Seabass, Barracuda, Red Snapper, Cobia, and other species. Using light and heavy tackle, you can bottom fish, deep sea fish, troll, jig, and drift fish. You're free to keep or release the fish you catch, whatever you prefer. The captain loves having kids on board and teaching them to fish, so do bring them with you as well.
Captain James covers you for all the fishing gear, bait, licenses, as well as catch cleaning. Just bring your snacks and drinks and you'll be all set for the adventure.

Half Day Offshore on April 18, 2026Had an amazing fishing trip. We caught 22 black sea bass and 5 red snappers(which we released). We saw a couple pods of dolphins, 2 sea turtles, a barracuda and 4 sharks. We took 2 ballons from the water. We had a special catch of a random crab pot. The Captain and First mate ensured that we always had bait. The crew made sure to make the trip feel like a family fishing trip!!!! Thank you Rainbreak Charters for putting us on the fish!!!!

Half Day Offshore on July 9, 2026 • 6 adults • 2 childrenThe captain did everything possible to get us catching fish even though the fish weren't really interested on our day. We tried trolling with no luck then bottom fishing with many small catches that excited the kids. Finally tried trolling a last time and caught two massive king mackerel's that made our day. I wouldn't hesitate to book with rain break charters, they went well over the 4 hours once we were onto the mackerel. We went home with a full cooler of filleted fish!

3/4 Day Trip Offshore on July 19, 2025 • 2 adultsWe had a great time! Captain James asked me what I wanted to catch, I said “big fish”, he alright! After a couple cast net throws from his son Duncan we had bait in the boat and were on our way to a spot he already had picked out. Within few minutes of being at the spot to an hr, including fight time, we had 4 solid bites and 3 big barracuda in the boat. Highly recommend Captain James and Rainbreak Charters!

This was an absolutely dream of a charter. The capt made us feel right at home and not to mention incredibly safe. He took us deep into the sea where we had an absolute blast bottom fishing! We came up with 19 fish in total and our freezer is packed. I am already planning another trip and to say I'm hooked is an understatement. If your on the fence, honestly book the trip, the memories will last you a life time!!
