Spear-It Charters is a premier South County and Block Island rod and reel and spearfishing charter. Captain David Hochman has been a Rhode Island commercial fisherman since he was 18, is a competitive free diver and US national spearfishing champion. He currently holds the world record for spear gun stripped bass (68.5 lb) and pole-speared stripped bass (52.5 lb). Captain David has been running charters for over 20 years. Spear-It Charters caters to both beginner and advanced fisherman for both rod and reel and spear fishing. Whichever charter you choose, Captain David and his mate will make sure you have a successful and fun-packed trip. Join us at Point Judith and embark on your next fishing adventure in Rhode Island!

Your boat for the day will be a JC31, which runs on a 3208 Caterpillar engine and uses the most advanced fish finding technology including: GPS, fishfinder electronics and radar navigation.

Depending on your trip, we will fish for the target species of your choice including: Blue, Thresher, and Mako Shark, Tuna, Tautog, Cod, Bonito, Striped Bass, Porgy, as well as Bluefish.  All the fish you catch will be filleted for you to take home!

Captain David was raised fishing in Rhodes Island waters and has commercially fished for 35 years and running charters for over 20 years. Commercial fishing requires producing fish since you can't go home empty-handed. The captain has learned all the reefs and hot spots, many of which few know. In addition, Captain David is a competitive free diver and US national spearfishing champion. He currently holds the world record for spear gun Striped Bass and pole-speared Striped Bass. He caters to all levels, from beginners to experts.
