Spear-It Charters is a premier South County and Block Island rod and reel and spearfishing charter. Captain David Hochman has been a Rhode Island commercial fisherman since he was 18, is a competitive free diver and US national spearfishing champion. He currently holds the world record for spear gun stripped bass (68.5 lb) and pole-speared stripped bass (52.5 lb). Captain David has been running charters for over 20 years. Spear-It Charters caters to both beginner and advanced fisherman for both rod and reel and spear fishing. Your boat for the day will be a JC31, which runs on a 3208 Caterpillar engine and uses the most advanced fish finding technology including: GPS, fishfinder electronics and radar navigation.
Depending on your trip, we will fish for the target species of your choice including: Blue, Thresher, and Mako Shark, Tuna, Tautog, Cod, Bonito, Striped Bass, Porgy, as well as Bluefish. All the fish you catch will be filleted for you to take home!
