Moondog Fly Fishing is located in Keyport and offers to show you a memorable time in these waters.

Capt. Michael will do his best to make sure you have a fun day full of fishing. This involves 4 to 10-hour trips, mainly fishing for Bass, Bluefish, Flounder, Seabass, Weakfish, and Little Tunny, depending on the season and conditions on the day. On these trips you can expect to use techniques such as light tackle, heavy tackle, trolling, fly fishing, big game fishing, jigging, popping, and spinning.

Your fishing adventure starts on a 23’ Jones Bros boat that can safely take up to 4 anglers.

Please make sure to buy a valid fishing license ahead of time. Moondog Fly Fishing offers only catch and release trips, so any fish you catch will be returned to the water. The boat will be supplied with drinks for your pleasure, be sure to let the captain know if you have any questions or want to bring your own.

    These trips don't come along very often and are usually for the fall when tuna are in striking distance. We usually would be between 5 and 20 miles offshore and would be out for 10 hours.

I’m Captain Mike and I specialize in fly and light tackle fishing for Stripers, Blues, False Albacore and Weakfish. I also do some Fluke and Sea Bass fishing and some fishing for Bluefin Tuna when they are in close enough. My goal is give my clients the best experience possible for a reasonable price. I mainly fish Raritan Bay but will also take some time each year to guide on Cape Cod and in the Florida Keys.
