Maui Spearfishing Academy
Maui Spearfishing Academy welcomes everybody looking to spend a couple of exciting hours snorkeling and spearfishing in the charming waters of Hawaii. The local experts will teach you professional freediving and spearfishing techniques. All the trips are breath-hold diving, no scuba. Captain Robert Twitchell will meet you in Lahaina and give you all the help you need to have a memorable experience.
Your fishing won’t involve any boat, and 10 anglers can join a trip. The location you’ll start out of has got toilets, so there’s no need to worry about that.
You can typically see thousands of fish per day, though a small minority of those are actual targets. You and the captain will only target the proper invasive and game fish. Although there are never guarantees you’ll encounter the species you can target, guests usually are able to get at least a few opportunities for making a catch.
The species you may catch include Jobfish, Milkfish, Giant Trevally, Peacock Grouper, Blacktail Snapper, and Bluestripe Snapper. Both you and the captain will be keeping your catch. Kids are welcome to join your trip but they have to be at least 13. Also, keep in mind that smoking and alcohol aren’t allowed during the trip.
Captain Robert takes care of catch cleaning and filleting when the trip is over. No need to worry about fishing licenses either, because you won’t need them.
Join a thrilling spearfishing adventure with Maui Spearfishing Academy and have an unforgettable time in Hawaii!
