Islamorada FL, United States

Mayhem Sportfishing specializes in live bait offshore fishing. Offering trips “from mild to wild”, they invite anglers of all ages to come aboard and have some fun catching fish in Islamorada. No prior experience is needed - just bring some sunscreen and get ready for a trip you will remember.

You will be fishing aboard Mayhem Sportfishing’s brand new boat - a 33 ft World Cat that has the speed and space to give you a seriously fun fishing experience. The boat’s walkaround layout will let you battle whatever fish bites your bait, while the full onboard toilet gives both fishermen and fisherwomen the chance to enjoy a full day on the water. And with twin Yamaha engines, the boat will get you to the best fishing spots before the other boats in the area have even begun - with a cruising speed of 30 knots, it can reach speeds of up to 50 knots in good conditions.

Islamorada is famous for its varied and exciting fishing opportunities, and Captain John Baar will give you a local insight into how to catch the most delicious and challenging fish in the area. He specializes in live bait fishing, and when the conditions are right, he will show you why kite fishing for Sailfish is so much fun. If you have always wanted to catch everyone’s favorite offshore fish - the Mahi Mahi - this could be your chance, and your trip may also put you face to face with Snappers, Groupers, Kingfish, and even Sharks.

All Mayhem Sportfishing’s tackle is well maintained and top quality, so don’t worry if you don’t have your own rods and reels. Everything will be provided for you - just come along and enjoy the day!

"It's simple. I love to fish." The words of Captain John Baar couldn't be more appropriate - he can't think of a better way to spend his time than being out on the water catching fish and seeing the smiles on other people's faces as they reel in a big catch. A Florida local, he has been fishing and diving the local waters from a very young age, giving him an intimate knowledge of the area's sea life. An excellent instructor, he enjoys teaching people the techniques he has learned over the years and specializes in introducing people to new ways of catching fish.

JP and Casey were great! Water was a little rough and windy but they really made it a good time on the water. Casey was very informative and made us laugh.  Caught plenty of fish and had a great time for the 1/2 day charter. Followed Casey’s advice and took our catch to Lazy Days and had an amazing dinner! Thanks for a great day.
