Papagayo Fishing is located in the community of Playas del Coco, 30 minutes from the Liberia International Airport, it has been a fishing community in the Gulf of Papagayo until the arrival of tourism that began in 2000, in addition, it is close to the hotels most popular in the Northwest of Costa Rica Guanacaste.
Captain José Méndez has been a fisherman for more than 25 years, starting out as a commercial fisherman and now in Sport Fishing. He offers full-day and half-day excursions every day of the week. His two sons Greyvin Mendez and Yeremy Mendez also run the boats and are currently the Captains of their boats.
Captain José owns the boat, Bahamas and the boat Dream Fishing and these boats have conventional and light fishing equipment: from stabilizers and Downriggers to a fighting chair, live well, tuna tubes and more.
The Bahamas boat is perfect for inshore fishing roosterfish and bottom fishing, but you can also take it up to 10 miles offshore in search of mahi mahi, yellowfin tuna, and sailfish.
All necessary equipment will be provided, including top professional Shimano tackle, lures and live bait. Snacks, fruits, water, beers and soft drinks are also provided; In addition to lunch available for a full - day trip.

The captain can arrange a boat pick-up from your hotel, sometimes there will be an extra charge for pick you up at your hotel, depending the location that you are staying.
