If I could describe this trip in one word it would be “WOW!” Seriously, every part of the trip was great. We arrived on time and the directions to get to the boat from the road were straightforward. Communication on Fishingbooker with the owner was great as well.

The captain of our charter and the deck hand were welcoming and kind from the very start. What was super great was everything was ready to go. We walked up to the boat, hopped on and within 30 seconds were pushed off and headed out to fish! The captain let me hook up my phone to play music, which was nice.

35 minutes after pushing off, we caught our first fish - a wahoo roughly 4 feet in length. Within the next hour we caught 3 more fish, a barracuda, a small black fin tuna, and a bonito. We were ecstatic!

Another hour and a half passed before we caught the next fish, but it was worth it. This one was a sailfish, about 85 inches in length! After this, we headed to a snorkeling spot where we all hopped in the water near a reef to explore a bit while the captain and deck hand made us lunch. We got to eat our tuna and bonito served as sashimi, as well as fresh guacamole, chips, watermelon, and ham and cheese sandwiches.

After this break which lasted about an hour, we went back out to fish for the last hour as we headed back to the marina. On the way back we got 2 more bonito!

It really was such a great trip. Here’s some info that might be worth noting: our trip was December 29, 2023, and was a 3/4 day trip (6 hours). The weather was overcast and light waves on the water. It’s also worth noting that they had cold water and beer for us on the boat.

Finally, the gear! The boat was a 2003 Luhr’s 40’ in excellent condition. It was clean, had fresh running water, and a bathroom. We walked around the marina after and we definitely had one of the nicest boats out there, which definitely added to the experience! They had Penn and Shimano reels (both very highly regarded in the fishing world) with braided line and steel and mono leader, for those who care about those details (although we did not have to rig up anything). I believe 6-8 lines were out at a time.

That pretty much sums it up! When I make another trip to Akumal or the surrounding area, this is the only charter I’ll consider again. It was phenomenal!

Capt Leo and first mate Chino took me and my 7-year-old out for a 6 hour charter. We caught 2 sailfish within 2 hours, which is extremely rare this time of year! We must have brought some extra good luck. We also bottom fished and caught some nice little keepers. The waves picked up pretty good by early afternoon and my son was ready to go in a little early, but it was no problem, the crew promptly reeled up the lines and brought us in for calmer waters. With just the 2 of us, there was an abundance of beverages and snacks, including fresh watermelon, chips, guacamole and sandwiches. The boat was clean and plenty of room. I couldn’t have been happier with the whole experience. I will definitely recommend this boat and crew to anybody.

We had one of the best charter fishing experiences ever!  Captain Leo and first mate Chino gave us a super memorable day of fishing.  We booked a six hour charter and we were on fish within the first 20 mins.  They both were knowledgeable, helpful and super FUN!  We caught lots of Bonito, a rare tuna, a good sized Barracuda and a large Wahoo.  We were very busy at the rods.  Then we took some downtime and enjoyed some fresh ceviche, guacamole and chips and cocktails.  Couldn’t have been a better day.  We will be back - highly recommend you check out Pescado Adventures and these guys in particular for a great experience.  We will certainly be back!

There were 7 of us and the boat was spacious for our group.  Went January 28th, after a bit of a cold snap. Didn’t catch as many fish as in 2023, but caught enough for a dinner for us.  Lost 2 Wahoo :( , but caught Yellow Fin Snappers, and a couple of other kind (I don’t remember the names).  Again Captain Leo and Chico were wonderful hosts, love the guacamole, chips, and fresh fruit. We had a wonderful time, you won’t be disappointed if you book with them.

Capt Leo, Capt Chino, and Mate Alex were great with our group of 7 people, including three kids 2, 4, and 9 years old. We caught King Mackerel, Barracuda, Grouper and more. They engaged with the kids and made it a great trip. Lunch was ceviche from our catch, along with fruit, guacamole and chips. There was cold bottled water, sodas and beer available.

We are avid anglers, so had high expectations, we were not disappointed!
