Owned and operated by Captain Scott W. Edgar established in 2019 to be the premier charter service for all of South East Alaska. His fleet of elite captains have several years of experience & love to share their tips and tricks with you as well as exchange travel stories. Your adventure starts on a large offshore sport fishing boat. It has plenty of room for up to 6 anglers inside its enclosed cabin and runs on twin Yamaha F250 engines. It uses all the needed navigation/fishfinder/radar and is equipped with salmon & halibut fishing gear, and electric downriggers.
The boat has a private restroom and a sink with fresh water, and also features a blue tooth sound system, a refrigerator, and a HEATER! You'll enjoy a stable ride, a pleasant warm interior, and will have plenty of space on deck.
The most prized fish you'll go after are Chinook Salmon and Halibut but you can also target 4 other salmon species, Crab, Rockfish, and Lingcod. Salmon in this area gets huge! Don't forget the whales and wildlife, our mission is that after your trip, you'll fall in love with Alaska!
Reel Alaska Fishing Charters offers flexible start times and provides premium name brand fishing gear, drinks, and snacks. You should buy, sign and print your fishing license before you come on board. Catch cleaning is available at $3.75 a pound of finished weight.(Just the fillets) And they can ship the fish at your convenience.

Captain Scott was extremely professional and prompt. We were able to board his boat right at the cruise terminal. Within just a few minutes he had us reeling in Salmon. We caught 14 in the first couple hours. He was super helpful and engaging with our two kids (son 8 and daughter 10). They were able to help reel in about half the catch that day! The boat and equipment are all high end pro gear! This is not a knock off charter that you’ll get with the cruise lines where you’re standing in the sun on a crowded boat manually reeling a downrigger up and down all day. You definitely get what you pay for up here and Captain Scott was definitely worth it! Highly recommend!!!
Captain Scott was literally walking for us at the end of the gangplank with a sign. He had his boat parked right next to our cruise ship so that we wasted not time getting out on the water. His boat was very nice. Clean, comfortable, and well stocked. We fished for four hours and unfortunately didn’t catch anything. However, Scott worked hard trying to get a few things on the lines for us to at least get a picture with! At the end of our time, he made the effort to take us to some spots to see Eagles and Seals. We appreciated the effort. When he took us back, he made the effort to drop us off close to other activities on the island. He was easy to hang out with and we enjoyed a relaxing day on the water looking at the beautiful scenery.
If you’re looking for a charter that delivers, look no further than Reel Fishing Charters. Captain Colby is a consummate professional—highly intelligent, strategic, and dialed into exactly what the fish are doing. This was a first-time trip for my wife and son, and Colby kept us on the action all day. We caught a fantastic variety of species, including King Salmon, halibut, and cod. We lucked out with perfect weather, but it was Colby’s skill that made the day a massive success. Total class act, great with beginners, and a phenomenal guide.
Had a great time. Got picked up on the dock by our ship and went straight to the boat. Everyone caught a fish!! My 4 year old caught her first fish the size of her!! Captain Colby was so wonderful with her and is a reel professional - pun intended!! Highly recommend - Colby even had some great read of places to eat in town and some sight seeing. 10/10 recommend!
