If your looking to catch fish, this is your guy, within 30 seconds of dropping a hook we had a Big Red on, and caught quit a few more, we went looking for trout, they weren’t biting , but caught some lady fish, which are fun and put up a good fight. then fished some docks and got into more Reds,  and then went out about 3 miles to catch Spanish, and we got into them!!! As the title reads Inshore/Nearshore lives up to the name!!

Definitely worth giving captain kyle a chance to put you on some fish. Got to the boat early and he welcomed us onto the boat. Asked us if we wanted to stay inshore or go out. Had us on the fish as soon as we got to our spot then took us to another spot where we finished the day. Already thinking about booking another trip with him this week

First, we had some weather come in on our original date/time and Kyle was great about being flexible to reschedule at another opening he had 2 days later. I really appreciate that! I took my 3 kids (ages 7-19). The boat size really only facilitates 3 fishing at a time, and depending on the wind and location, two at a time off the stern. We were fishing live bait (shrimp and minnows) rather than lures, which was complicated by aft, port side live well location. Captain stayed busy baiting. Basically, this meant I was deck hand baiting hooks all afternoon and casting bobbers rather than fishing. All my kids can cast, but the tight conditions made it safer for the captain and I to do most of the casting, especially with top water bobber rigs. At one point my 7 year old got fed up and started baiting hooks for himself and his siblings because the trash fish factor. I’m not sure there was an option for a price adjustment had I simply said I would support my kids trip and not fish, but that’s certainly a question to ask. We had a hard time locating any fish that were biting. We started to catch a few on the surf side of the jetty until a group of spear fishermen anchored right next to us, dove in and promptly swam right in between us and the rocks were we were fishing. I’ve never seen such a blatant lack of curtesy. We were literally faced with leaving or landing a hook in their backs, which my kids didn’t need to see. We moved to several different locations with little success. We made a last ditch stop at a ‘honey hole’ and caught a nice variety, although everything was too small or out of season. We left with one fish to filet between the four of us. Kyle is a great person and worked hard trying, so I’ve given the trip a generous four stars. I would advise no more than three w the captain being the fourth. I would also recommend checking local fishing seasons prior to booking and asking to fish specific species. Rods and tackle were good with some finicky reals working average.

Kyle did an outstanding job. Everyone on the boat caught some fish and had a blast. Kyle is a great example of down home person and that’s a good thing. I recommend Prodigy Charters as well as Kyle. Made some great memories with my son and a couple of his friends after they graduated from Mississippi State.

My 9 year old son and I were looking for a chance to get out in the gulf and track down some whoppers.  Captain Kyle did not disappoint. Within an hour he had me hooked up to an absolute beast of a red snapper. He also knew of a perfect place for my son to pull in several smaller red snapper and triggerfish. We went to a third spot where I caught a large spanish mackerel. I swear I got hooked up on a king mackerel but after fighting between reeling him in and watching him run with my line, we lost him. All good though. We had an absolute blast and many great conversations. We’ve been on vacation for 3 days now and my son keeps telling everyone about the fish we caught. I would definitely recommend hitting up Captain Kyle for a trip.
