Predator Sport Fishing Hatteras

58058 Highway 12
Hatteras NC, United States

We fish year round out of Hatteras, North Carolina, aboard The Predator, a 57ft custom built boat. We mainly do offshore gulf stream trips but will do half days if available close to the wanted date. We mainly fish for Tuna, Mahi, Wahoo, Blue and White Marlin, and Sailfish on our offshore trips. We will at times stop over a wreck or bottom and do some high speed vertical jigging for Amberjacks and Almaco jacks.

On our half day trips we will be fishing just outside the inlet off of the shoreline for our varied inshore species, mostly targeting Spanish Mackeral and Bluefish. If the time is right we may even catch a few Cobia.

We have a full range of Shimano reels on new custom built rods from 20lb up to 130. We have some stand up gear available if you’re feeling adventurous. The boat’s cockpit is equipped with three fighting chairs, one large one in the center and two smaller on the sides so there’s plenty of seating for all when the fish are biting.

We are equipped with top of the line Furuno Electronics from GPS and color chart plotters to fish finder and radar. We also have all USCG approved and required safety equipment.

The crew of the Predator prides itself in keeping a clean, mechanically safe and sound boat. When you board in the morning you’ll be able to enjoy the spacious air conditioned (in the summer) or heated (winter) cabin to relax on your ride to the fishing grounds.  We have a microwave for your convenience as well as a entertainment center for your enjoyment.

Things you need to bring are the basics, sunscreen, sunglasses, hat, dress for the weather, sneakers if possible with a non marring sole. You will also need to bring a cooler with your food and drink for the day. Alcohol is allowed but we’d prefer if you bring it in cans if possible, much safer than glass. There is a bar and table to assemble food and eat at.

We provide all bait, tackle and ice for your catch during the day. Fish cleaning, will be available at the dock if you choose.

About the Captain

Chris Barnett
Hatteras, North Carolina, United States
Member since September 2015
Captain Chris was born and raised in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. As a third generation waterman, Captain Chris has mated on some of the top boats in the Hatteras fleet for over eight years. Having earned his Captain’s license several years ago, Captain Chris has also operated a commercial boat out of Wanchese, NC during the off seasons. Captain Chris has a huge passion for fishing. His words of encouragement from the bridge will keep the angler going when the battle with a large fish is starting to wear on him/her. Captain Chris loves to fly billfish flags on the way home and throw fish on the dock after a great day on the water. When Captain Chris is not fishing, he is spending time with his wife Kerri and his two children, Sylas and Colbi.
