Based out of Dameron, Desperate Measures Guide Service is your ticket to world class Light Tackle and Fly Fishing on the Chesapeake Bay.

Capt. Cole will do his best to make sure you have a fun day full of fishing. He specializes in light tackle, fly fishing, bottom fishing, jigging, popping, and spinning, all to get you on that bite. This involves 4 to 8-hour trips, mainly fishing for Striped Bass, Speckled Trout, Spanish Mackerel, Bluefish, Cobia, and Redfish, depending on the season and conditions on the day.

Your fishing adventure starts on a 26’ C-Hawk boat that can safely take up to 4 anglers. This boat features an ice box and a wireless trolling motor.

All rods, reels, and terminal tackle are included in the price so you can focus on what really matters, fishing.

Your trip will include all the necessary fishing licenses for the day.

You’ll be able to keep any legal species caught during the trip.

There will be complimentary snacks and drinks aboard for your convenience during the trip, but feel free to bring your own if you prefer.

    Here in Maryland waters of the Chesapeake Bay we are not allowed to target Striped Bass during the month of April. But that does not mean there is nothing to fish for! If you are ready to get on the water after a long winter come spend the day with me fishing for Speckled Trout in the remote islands in the Chesapeake Bay. These fish are a top prize for any Light Tackle or Fly Fishing angler and our area can produce some real trophy size fish!

We will employ multiple tactics through out the day to give you the greatest light tackle fishing experience the Chesapeake Bay has to offer!

I was born and raised on the water in St. Mary's County on the western shore of the Chesapeake Bay. I grew up in the charter fishing business. My father ran charter boats my entire life and as soon as I was old enough to help I jumped on board. Now I still help run charter boats alongside him as well as run light tackle trips on my 26' C Hawk for smaller groups looking for a personalized day on the water.

Spring is right around the corner and I am extremely excited to get back to some nice warm temperatures! During the month of April I will be fishing for Speckled Trout and Perch around remote islands in the Chesapeake Bay and Rivers. The Chesapeake Bay holds some pretty impressive Speckled Trout. If you are looking to catch a new personal best size "Spec" this is the time of year you want to get out and give it a try. As we move into May and June the Chesapeake Bay opens back up to Striped Bass fishing, giving us the opportunity to catch Stripers and Specs at the same time. Later in June we will expect to see some Bluefish and Red Drum show up as well. 2023 fishing season is about to take off don't miss your chance to get on the water and catch some fish!
