Salty Hooker Charters runs daily out of Cape Charles Harbor in Cape Charles Virginia, 23310. We fish the lower Chesapeake Bay wherever the bite is on. Captains Jon and Jonny will do his best to make sure you have a fun day full of fishing on the lower Chesapeake.

Your fishing adventure starts on a 28’ Grady White 282 Sailfish. There are plenty of places to sit and store your belongings. The lower cabin has a sitting area and table, and an enclosed bathroom. For cold weather fishing we have an enclosed helm area and cabin with a heater. 

Smoking and alcohol are allowed.

All fishing licenses required, fishing poles, tackle, bait, and the ice for bait and fish is Included in the price. So you can focus on what really matters, fishing. The crew will clean, fillet, and bag your catch for you to take home at the end of the trip.

Captain Jonny and his father Captain Jon are both U.S. Coast Guard approved OUPV Captains authorized to carry up to 6 passengers. Captains Jonny and Jon have been fishing and boating in all portions of the Chesapeake Bay for 20 plus years. They are originally from Maryland where they fished the upper and middle Chesapeake Bay. Captain Jonny worked for 3 years as first mate on the Vicki Ann in Deale, MD. Captain Jon has fished the middle Chesapeake since he was a kid, as well as working as a first mate on several boats in Deale, MD. In 2020 Captains Jonny and Jon teamed up and started Salty Hooker Charters, LLC in Cape Charles, Virginia. They both now reside in the Cape Charles area, where they love the awesome fishing the lower Chesapeake provides!. Fishing in the lower Chesapeake bay out of Cape Charles is rewarding. Depending on the time of year, you'll get a chance to catch different species like Cobia, Striped Bass, Red Drum, Spadefish, Black Drum, Tautog, and more. This father and son team will put you on the fish! Your necessary fishing gear, fishing licenses, and fish cleaning will be provided by the charter. Drinking alcohol and smoking are allowed on board.

Cancellation policy

Free cancellation up to 3 days prior to trip

You can cancel or modify your booking up to 3 days before the trip date, free of charge. If you cancel or modify your booking later, or fail to show up, you'll forfeit 100% of what you've paid.

Child Friendly
We have no age limit for kids, but we have found that most kids at 5 and under tend to get bored pretty quickly. Also, sometimes they get scared when we are running fast, or think we are going to tip over when we aren't moving.

Book with 10% deposit, pay rest to captain

When the captain confirms your trip, FishingBooker charges your credit card a 10% deposit to guarantee your reservation.

The remaining balance is to be paid directly to the charter operator on or prior to your trip date in one of the following payment methods:

When paying the remaining balance with a credit card, an additional 3% charge will apply.
