This was the best charter to date that I’ve ever been on. It actually felt less like a charter and more like a good friend taking you out on the water and putting you on fish and countless scallops. Day 1 was all about scallops and day 2 was more so emphasized on fishing with some scalloping on the way back inshore. Captain Jayson and crew knew exactly where to find them as we got countless scallops within a hour, and that was only the beginning of the day! We continued at a few other spots and had the same success, leaving with a bags and bags full of scallops to go back and prepare one hell of a dinner. On the way back in, we mentioned to captain that if at all possible, we’d like to find some time to fish the next day. He switched his entire plan and day around for us to make sure we could go fishing. He put us on multiple grouper, as well as some big shark that had everyone’s hearts pumping! We hit the scallop spots on the way back inshore to grab some more, and once again found scallop after scallop. In our two days, Jayson showed us countless fishing spots, scalloping spots, and a damn good time. Aside from the professionalism, he was also personable as can be. He took the time over the 2 days to get to know a little bit about everyone and that to me said a lot. Many captains are just there for the money and this guy just emphasized time and time again he just wanted to help provide life lasting memories and a good time, and he did just that and then some. Captain Jayson went above and beyond to give my family and I two fantastic days of scalloping and fishing! It was such a great experience, we couldn’t wait to go again the next day—and that was equally awesome. Snorkeling, scalloping and salt water fishing… what a total blast it was, and I’m so glad I got to do this.

Captain Jayson and mate Marcus were full of energy, knowledgeable, and eager to put us on fish.  When we started catching fish we were not targeting we moved. Fun catching Lady Fish but not for the cooler.  The bite was slow for all the boats on the water we found out after Jayson reached out to find out how the other boats were doing so we moved to red fish.  When that bite was not good he took us to bottom fish at some secret locations and put some fish in the cooler.  Our main goal, as a family of 5, was to have an adventure and Jayson and Marcus delivered. Hands down, an amazing, memorable trip.  The kids even swam at a sandbar miles from shore in the Gulf.

Family of six (2 adults/4 kids) went scalloping with Captain Jayson and DJ in Steinhatchee! Unforgettable experience for a lasting memory. Not only was the boat ride fun, but the Captain put us right on the scallops for our first time ever scalloping we got too many and had to put some back. Every kid felt proud of their skills and can’t wait for another trip to go fishing next time with Captain Jayson.

Captain Jayson provided a great experience for our family!  He and his team were very attentive to our needs, kept a close eye on our party, and made our trip memorable!  The boat could have used a little more room for dry storage of goods and more comfortable seating.  The openness of the boat did make it easy to move around with 6 of us plus his crew once on the grounds. 

Captain Jayson makes you feel right at home and made sure that everyone had a great time.  He spent extra time to ensure equipment fit each person and was very attentive to any issues we encountered so we had the best experience!  I would highly recommend Captain Jayson and Hookin It Charters and Tours!
