We went as a family on this trip with one teen and two kids under the age of 12.  We limited out right away on red snapper and although we did troll for bigger game fish, Captain Clinton and Deck Hand Tyler recognized right away that the kids LOVED the action of catching fish and so for the next few hours he allowed them to almost limit out on vermillion snapper.  We never had so much fun! They were a WONDERFUL crew going out of their way to be patient with all the kids questions and help them have a wonderful time.  I would go out with them again and recommend others use them!  Coming home with 55 fish made a wonderful memory!

Family had a good day on the water with Clinton and, um, Colton(?).  Very friendly and knowledgeable about local waters. Trawling turned up nothing as did two of the three rigs we fished. Honestly, expectations were low due to summer storms impacting fishing and it went about as expected. Third rig was decent and we caught spade, lane snapper, and grunt.

Of course, having a big haul is the fisherman’s dream and we didn’t get that. However, it’s about the experience more than the fish and the experience was good enough. Fast boat was fun, crew chatter was nice and we all learned a thing or two. My avid fishermen were happy to add two new breeds to their list of catches.  It was a nice day in the water.

The only room for improvement would be to have more lines in the water when stopped. We never had more than three lines in with five fishermen so two were always relegated to watching on what was already a slow day of fishing.  Boat seemed plenty big to drop two more without risk of tangle in prop or each other.  Before dropping lines, we spent quite a while trawling, maybe too long, and that wasn’t super fun as there were no bites and we felt like we were just loitering in circles around rigs…for what felt like an hour. Also learned late that there was a nice, ice cold cooler of drinks that were not offered. Maybe those were crew only?  Fortunately, we had a small cooler of our own so we didn’t get totally dehydrated, but man, those ice cold waters looked good.

Overall,  I would recommend this charter. Good guys, cool boat, and ultimately we landed a handful of interesting fish.

It is fishing and not catching, so hopefully we’ll be covered up next time!

Our captain and first mate got us to our destination safely and we caught all the fish we wanted to catch and more. They got us on a sail fish, brought it in, (got pics and released it) and we got to see it fly out of the water while we pulled it in. It was a majestic site to see. We loved it!!

We had a blast with captain Clinton, and his deck hand Tyler. They had us on fish right outta the gate, they helped us and answered any questions that we had about catching the many of species of fish in that area. Gear on the boat was great, the only thing that was wore out was my arms ha ha! We will definitely be back to Reel Thrillz for our next fishing trip! Thanks again to Clinton, and Tyler for a great experience and fun trip.

Would recommend these guys! Although my son got seasick right out of the gate, Captain Clinton and the 1st mate adjusted to help accommodate and we were able to catch a few whoppers! Great memories and experience!
