Russell Outdoor Guides is all about fishing the stunning waters of Gainesville. Having logged many hours on these tides, Captain Jerry is prepared to put you on fish.
Fishing around here will often see you targeting Largemouth Bass, Spotted Bass, Striped Bass, and more, depending on the time of year.
On these trips, it’s common to troll and bottom fish using light tackle. Capt. Jerry also offers fly fishing and for the more adventurous among you, there’s bowfishing. Any fish within the legal limit is yours to take with you, with some trophy fish being catch-and-release only.
You’ll step aboard a 20’ Trophy center console that can carry up to 4 passengers. It has everything you need for a productive day on the water. Rods, reels, and tackle are included, as well as lures. Live bait is included, but it’s good to ask about this so you know if you’ll be catching it yourself.
You might need to purchase a local fishing license before the trip. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species may be off-limits or require a special tag, so make sure you know what to expect.
Trips with Russell Outdoor Guides are open to the whole family, so feel free to make a family day out of it! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. And, you can’t go wrong with snacks so that nobody gets grumpy on an empty belly! Some essentials you’ll want to bring are sunglasses, a hat, sunscreen (non-spray), and bottled water. If you’d like to bring other drinks, just ask.
Give yourself something to look forward to and book a trip with Russell Outdoor Guides!
