Healy Outdoors – Oswego Multi-Species

Spend the day with Healy Outdoors and find out what the fishing in Oswego is all about! Captain Michael will be your guide, offering years of professional experience.

Depending on conditions, you might hook into Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth Bass, White Bass, Bowfin, Carp, Bullhead, Crappie, Northern Pike, Rainbow Trout (Steelhead), Sheepshead, Walleye, and who knows what else! On the day of your trip, you’re likely to be actively casting using spinning gear using various methods. All experiences are welcome! Capt. Michael also offers fly fishing.

Trips with Healy Outdoors are child-friendly, so feel free to make a family day out of it! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. Snacks are never a bad idea for a boost of energy when needed!

You’ll be welcome aboard an 18’ Lowe dual console that holds up to 3 anglers. It has downriggers and all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. You’ll find rods, reels, and tackle waiting for you, as well as lures. Live bait is offered upon request and for beginners.

Before coming aboard, you will be required to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species we catch may not be in season just yet, all regulations are stricly enforced so make sure you know what to expect.

Don’t leave home without bottled water, sunglasses, and sunblock (non-spray).  Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but you should avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

Now and then the fish might get away, but a day on the water never should. Time to make it happen, with Healy Outdoors!

4 Hour Trip, starts at 5:30 AM
    Seasonal trip May 1 - Sep 1

This is for intermediate fly anglers. There are no freshwater predators more exciting to target over pike on the fly, being more prevalent, yet similar sized to their elusive musky cousins. The adrenaline when watching one chase your fly and explode at the boat is unparalleled. We will be using 8-10 wt. fly rods with large flies. Being experienced with the double haul casting method is a must when fly fishing for these predators. For less experienced anglers I recommend the longer trip for instruction.

May-June for Oswego River Walleye is prime time with fish regularly caught in the mid-upper 20” range each trip. You’ll fish with a rod in your hand, putting in the work for these trophies. What’s overlooked is that they still feed there throughout the year! My biggest was 31.5” on August 11th, 2021. Mid-late summer is condition-dependent daily so those trips will be up to my discretion as to whether it's worth going out. The trophies are waiting! So come out and get a trophy walleye you earned yourself!
