Miss Carrabelle Fishing Charters

Carretera Costera Sur
Cozumel QR, Mexico

Cozumel Sportfishing is a family business, and the father, son and daughter team is headed by chief captain Jorge Jr, who at 34 has already been fishing 26 years, 15 or which have been as a captain. He is assisted by the able Capt. Wilbert, who has 16 years’ experience as a captain and knows how to show guests a good time. The group will make sure you have fun in the sun, whether you want to spend your whole time fishing, or take a scenic cruise around Cozumel.

Apart from her spacious deck, well-equipped fishing facilities and a large cockpit, what guests tend to like the most about Miss Carrabelle is her fully fitted-out, spacious, lockable bathroom! Complete with a mirror, soap and shower, this can really make the difference between a great fishing trip and a woman’s nightmare. It may sound trivial but it’s true. At the same time, this 32’ Aquasport Tournament Master is excellently equipped with whatever fishing around the Gulf of Mexico might throw at it, with a fighting chair, fishfinder and all the appropriate first aid equipment. The flybridge and spacious bow make for excellent sunbathing spots if you want a break from the fishing.

Seeing as Cozumel is a world-famous location for game fishing it’s not surprising that the majority of fishing aboard Miss Carrabelle involves trolling with a variety of bait types and artificial lures. This is a great way of targeting the variety of fish found in the area, which can include Blue and White Marlin, Sailfish, Mahi-mahi, Bonito, Barracuda and many more. If you’re coming specifically to catch a billfish, the best time for Blue Marlin is from late April until early September, while Sailfish are usually around from late February. Whatever the season you’ll be in for a treat, with Barracuda around pretty much year round. Watch your catch be turned into fresh ceviche in front of you and you’ll wish you never had to leave!

About the Captain

I was born into a fishing family and have been fishing since I was 8 years old. I've had a captain's license for 15 years and love to be out on the water showing guests a good time! I am an honest guy who doesn't like to tell my guests they're going to catch something unrealistic when it's out of season, but I will always use all my experience, effort and skills to get them to fish.

The fishing boat and crew is everything you expect.  The crew was very professional once they got there.  We showed at the dock at 7 am; however without telling us the Captain changed the time to 7:30 or at least this was what we where told in our call to him.  After several more calls the Captain finally showed at 8:40 am.  You are not allowed to fish on this boat, you side the and if there is bit on line captain will set it and hand it to you.  So this is called a reeling trip not a fishing trip.  Last thing, no matter what is says on the web site they will not take your Credit Card.  Because of this I had to pay additional $60 to get the cash.  No photo because no catch.

Dear Steven thank you for the comment for us all are important.

When the marine authorities close the port due to weather conditions no boat can leave. We always informed our customer as we did via e-mail one day before your fishing trip.

If the guest does not follow the recommendations provided to attend his fishing tour in an organized way is not in our hand any incidents that occur.

As a security measure we had to wait for the Marina authorities to open the port for fishing activities.

The credit card payment is in Mexican peso at the exchange rate of the day, we are not responsible for the agreements between the customer and bank in relation to a international transacción fee, which was also explained before charging.

Thanks for the comment we will attend each point to prevent future incidents.
