First, I’d like to thank our incredible guide and captain, Greg! I booked this trip as a surprise for my partner, who loves fishing, and he was blown away by the whole experience. Our captain, the trip, and the fish we caught were all so memorable! Although this time of year is tough for catching fish, we were able to catch 5 different species! This includes White Bass, several Yellow Bass, a Channel Catfish, several Freshwater Drum,  and a trophy White Crappie!! We are so grateful to have the opportunity to spend the day with such an experienced angler. Anyone that decides to go on this excursion should know that this is, by far, one of the best charters in the greater Chattanooga area. I’d recommend it to people that are new to fishing and even folks that have been fishing for a long time. We look forward to planning more trips with Greg! Can’t recommend Captain Gregory highly enough to anyone looking for a fishing charter around Chattanooga. The crappie weren’t biting a lot, but the white bass sure were. We also caught a nice large mouth and 2 really nice catfish. My wife absolutely loved her first experience fishing from a boat and the only complaint I had was that she caught so many I had to spend all afternoon cleaning fish. This was the first fishing charter I’ve ever done and Captain Greg was great and made my me and wife very comfortable throughout the whole process. He also gave great instructions about the location - everything before we actually went fishing. If you are looking for a good fish charter in this area do not hesitate to book with Captain Greg. We will be back soon.

Had a great day fishing with Captain Gregory.  In spite of poor water conditions, we still managed to find plenty of fish.  The previous night there were severe storms and the water was pretty dirty.  I did not see anybody catch anything in the other boats that were on the water at the same time. I think it’s a safe bet that you will do well if you go out with this guy.  We caught white bass (lost count how many - they were very active) 2 yellow bass, some crappie, a bluegill, 2 largemouth and one spotted bass. Best fish was one of the largemouth at ~4lbs.  I highly recommend Captain Gregory, and since I’m in Cleveland for business somewhat regularly, I plan to look him up every time I make the trip.

I booked a trip with Smith Fishing Adventures to experience spider rigging and trolling crank baits on planer boards for crappies.  What an amazing experience…Captain Greg is a wizard at this specialized fishing technique!  He went straight to his pre-planned “honey holes” and we were on the fish in no time at all.  With his state of the art electronics and his knowledge of the target species we were able to stay on the fish all morning.

His boat and equipment are top notch and very specialized from his 16’ graphite spider rods all the way to his use of the Live Scope to make his client’s fishing adventure a truly one of a kind experience!  I have been on so many chartered fishing trips in my lifetime from walleye fishing on Lake Erie to deep sea fishing for King Mackeral and I would rate my spider rigging crappie trip on Lake Chickamauga right up there with my all-time favorites!

Great communication. Great preparation. Flexible to provide the best opportunity to catch fish and a patient instructor on crappie fishing techniques. AND we caught fish!
