Trip Summary

I had the pleasure of fishing with the Baker family from Virginia for a half day reef trip. The weather was pretty windy all week so we decided to stay close to shore on the patch reefs off key largo. Had a ton of bites with fish too big to stop before getting us in the rocks. We managed to stop a few really nice Grouper which we had to release. We ended the day with a few jumbo Hogfish and some Porgy for dinner. May 1st is the opening season for Grouper and I can't wait!!

Anthony caucht his first Swordfish and it was a stud! First drift and he was on, we battle this beast for an hour and a half and finally came up and jumped. We quickly realized it was bigger than expected. We headed off to look for some dolphin and got into more action with some really nice schools of mahi. Ended the day with tons of good eats.
